  1. I think the whole thing with Coutinho being shit for a couple of seasons and then us signing him in the hope he wouldn't continue to be shit.. but him still being shit has left me with PTSD Hopefully this won't follow that pattern and it will be a worthwhile signing
  2. I guarantee if we end up unseeded that we will be the team all the seeded teams hope they don't get
  3. Sancho was good at Dortmund but there does seem to be a problem converting good performances in the German league to the English. Attacking players like Havertz, Werner, Bailey, Sancho etc have all failed to carry excellent form over to the PL.
  4. Ellis is the obvious one but I don't think he was a bad person, just a reactionary and limited chairman. Steve Hodge was a word removed
  5. It's all about opinions but I disagree on both accounts. I think Felix is a good player that made the mistake of going to Chelsea with every other attacking forward in Europe and would flourish under Emery. Where as Sancho just looks poor and limited, I'm sure Emery could improve him but I don't think he'll ever be considered a top player again
  6. In fairness to Lexicon, he's just going on what another Leicester fan on here said.
  7. I'd be surprised if we were interested, not the right type of player for us. He'll suit West Ham or Everton better with how he plays
  8. So basically he's just repeated all the existing rumours? The guys an idiot
  9. Sounds like he's found the perfect place for his skill set
  10. It's a joke thread, full of little winks and nods. No one's taking it seriously, in the same way the Rashica threads were just a series of bad fish puns. Some times it's nice to have a silly 'what if?' thread
  11. That's where I'm at. I fear my reactions have got too slow and the game is too 'busy' for my brain to process. I was good at Streetfighter 2 on the SNES.. but that was over 30 years ago!
  12. Don't get me wrong, I think he's actually a pretty dangerous player when playing off the left in a counter attacking team but I'm not sure we're that team anymore. He would've been excellent in Smith's team
  13. Not sure he has the footballing intelligence to play the role next to Watkins
  14. It's a fair point and I'm by no means saying I'm definitely correct I have been wrong many times, just a feeling I get. To me It's like buying a coat because it's in the sales even though it's not the coat you actually wanted and it's not quite the right size. You might wear it occasionally but you'll always be wishing you'd just paid the extra for the coat you really coveted
  15. I disagree, I think we would end up regretting getting Tielemans as our new midfield option. If he wasn't free we wouldn't be interested which suggests to me he's not the right choice
  16. That's my fear, I think Guendouzi would suit us better. Tielemens has great technique, if he can get back his best, but Guendouzi has good technique coupled with aggression, speed and fitness. All things Tielemens lacks.
  17. At least you'll have someone else, other than Buendia, to take your frustrations out on
  18. I suppose I just hoped we would go for players that were better than our current players rather than squad fillers. Maybe I'm being unrealistic.
  19. Tielemans would be competing with Doug and Kamara and he's nowhere near as good as either of them However, we do need bodies for Europe so if his wages aren't too ridiculous then it might be okay
  20. When his club most needed him he could not be arsed to put in the effort, he knew he was getting paid and then getting out of there whatever. Whether he is a good player (he's not as good as McGinn or JJ) is irrelevant if he's not going to put in the hard yards
  21. There are only four Champions League places and there are now seven teams (Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea, Spurs) that all feel that their rightful place is in the competition. Every year there will be at least a couple of the teams who feel like they are failing and start to panic when they find themselves coming adrift. Sackings and panic buys follow. So, yes, Chelsea and Spurs might improve next year but there will always be a couple of those teams having a 'bad' season. Our aim is to make sure we slip in amongst those that group, which we can do with clever recruitment. It will be difficult, but not impossible. Ultimately, qualifying for a European competition should be our aim every season.
