  1. A tip. If they ever do get introduced and it is stipulated that you can get arrested for not carrying your ID card with you even when you take the rubbish out... always carry your ID card. That way you won't get arrested. Works every time.
  2. I live in Spain and used to have an ID card (residence and work permit but a dinky little plastic card with my photo, date of birth, address and tax number). Now, because there has been such a lot of immigration and the system had virtually broken down, they have speeded things up by only issuing ID cards to Spanish Citizens (of course) and foreigners making their first application. I am not a Spanish Citizen and I already had an ID card. The last time I went to renew mine it was half an hour in a queue, 5 minutes with a clerk and only one visit. A tremendous advance. One problem. No ID card any more for those renewing. Just a flimsy sheet of paper which confirms those thing a passport doesn't - tax number principally. Seeing as by law some kind of ID must be carried by everyone at all times, I now have to carry my passport everywhere. Passports are bulky things. This pisses me off. If I lived in the UK I'd say yes to ID cards.
  3. Fred Potter did well in the youth team in the late 50s but was making no progress at inside forward until he was moved to goalkeeper, where he at least got to make his first-team debut. I think he was later Hereford's keeper.
  4. I agree 100% with this. And therefore yours is a voice to be respected and we should not allow it to be ignored.
  5. Just needs some dude to answer "Well I use a laptop in most parts of the house though I also have a PC in the bathroom whereas I have no Internet access in my job as a streetwalker but I often pop into an Internet Cafe and post to VillaTalk wibble wibble." But I won't.
  6. A little more on pasties for our New Orleans VTer. Cornish pasties perfectly safe for work or nearly safe for work but not quite
  7. The Arsenal Official Site doesn't seem to have put its Reserves' fixtures up yet, but last season's match was played at the Underhill Stadium, Barnet's home ground.
  8. How will you feel if someone else "votes" for that?
  9. Yes, it's certainly a shame the way these old threads get dragged up. Point scoring ho! I'm very much against it.
  10. I agree 100% with this. After all... Oh! It's much too late to find I think I've changed my mind I'd better change it back Or I will both be sorry
  11. The poll was only giving Christians the chance of "voting" to be non-practising ones.
  12. I know a Spanish guy in London who once got laid up for months in bed. He watched telly all day and gave the cricket a go. Then he 'invented' what everyone had invented years before - turning the sound off and listening to the Test Match ball by ball commentaries on the radio. When he started watching he was someone who got mixed up between cricket and croquet. After 3 months he became hooked on cricket and couldn't wait to see England v Australia. He even asked me, "Why do these so-called experrrts on the rrrrrrradio keep going on about leg spinnerrrs when evrrryone knows therrre's not enough bounce forrr them in England?" If he were a VTer instead of going up QPR for his 'pleasure', he'd have definitely voted for the Ashes.
  13. Mods, if you think the following is inappropriate please remove. General Krulak. As you know Villa Talk is fairly closely moderated. Please be reassured that I for one have never seen anything deleted from this thread on Villa Talk even closely resembling the post that you will have seen elsewhere this evening. Have you considered it may have been a bluenose who'd signed up for that site with one express purpose about 3 weeks ago?
  14. To be fair we did lose 3-0 at home to Inter-Milan 4 days ago didn't we? Oh...
  15. I don't like all this "believer" crap and wouldn't normally have bothered voting, but after the knee-jerk reactions and idiotic panic threads of last night I feel a strong compulsion to get behind the manager and board as never before. So we MAY have failed to sign some overhyped Scottish keeper. So bloody what?
  16. noun 1 countenance, physiognomy, phiz, visage, smiler, mug the human face (`kisser' and `smiler' and `mug' are informal terms for `face' and `phiz' is British) 2 someone who kisses Can we take it that the poll refers to meaning 2, that is to say gay persons?
