  1. Heading off to Es Canar in Ibiza a week today. It'll be my second time going, amazing place for people who want to go to Ibiza and avoid the clubbing scene.
  2. Shame, as he could have been a good addition to the midfield, but it shows where his priorities lie by choosing Kiev over the Premier League, which he apparently was dying to come to. There was no guarantee that we were one of the other clubs that were in for him anyway, so there's not much point being too disappointed.
  3. Absolute legend for us. He's always a threat to the opposition and hit some tremendous form in the 2nd half of last season. If he continues it into the next one, we're in for a terrific start.
  4. Rumours on tw*tter now say Arsenal have had a bid accepted
  5. Lots of twitter rumours about Stephane Mbia: Transfer News Live ‏@DeadlineDayLive 1h Aston Villa could make an offer for Queens Park Rangers' £4m-rated midfielder Stephane Mbia. (Source: Star) Twitter and the Star, not the most credible of sources.... Apologies if this has been posted previously!
  6. Very easy to say Okore, since we've all seen that Chelsea video and are well aware of his quality and what he could bring to the table to help fix the leaky defence. However, I'm looking forward to seeing what Tonev or Bacuna can do, since we know very little about them.
  7. This has gone on far too long, and I think people are latching on to every single detail about what is said by whoever on twitter when we just shouldn't. It's understandable, since he's come into our club and played a huge part in saving us from relegation and has since become one of the most sought after strikers in Europe, however, the only people that really have any idea as to what is going on will be the club and Benteke's agent. If he stays, fantastic, if he goes, I just hope he decides this early enough for us to find a replacement, assuming we use the funds wisely. What will be will be etc....
  8. Very excited about this! I'm not expecting that he'll be the solution to all of our defensive problems, but he'll be one hell of an improvement!
  9. Wasn't a fan of the away shirt 5 minutes ago, now I quite like it. Looks much better untucked. The home shirt though.....awesome
  10. To be honest, I would have thought that his agent ,as well as the man himself, would realise that at least 1 more season at Villa is the smartest thing to do. He's had a cracking first season here and he would be guaranteed a start for every match of the season, providing he is fit. He fits into the squad and he works brilliantly with our style of play. Granted, he could move to Spurs or whoever, but what's to say that he could just be benched for the majority of the season, or he could just flop? 1 more season at Villa would probably cement his already outstanding reputation (or go the other way if he has a bad season, but I can't see him completely ballsing it up to be honest..). Fingers are crossed, get the bloody job done!
  11. Annnnndd relax. Absolutely ecstatic! After having such a terrible season (but also some fantastic moments/goals), the fact that such a young, inexperienced side have managed to fight their way through is brilliant. Hopefully next season, Lambert will stay true to is word and build something special here. The foundations are there, lets come back next season with a **** bang!!!

Like so many have already said, nothing has really changed. Chelsea was really a bonus game, and regardless of whether we got anything out of it or not, the performance that the lads produced was fantastic. For long periods of the game, we outplayed a team that is now 3rd in the table, which was something we definitely couldn't say at Christmas. We can certainly outplay a Wigan team that are a) going to be completely knackered next week and just about scraped a goal from a corner in the final minutes against a 10 man City team that had been awful the entire game. We've lost Benteke for it, which is a blow, but we've had games where he's been pretty much absent and we've still gone through to win thanks to an in-form Agbonlahor and a remarkably hard working Weimann. If our midfield works as hard as they did yesterday, and we have Lowton back, then we can sneak a win even if we don't have to.
  13. Shocking performance by City. No passion in that club at all, just a collection of over-paid prima donnas, nothing "team" about them at all, and it really shows. Wigan, on the other hand, played with purpose and conviction. I'm not saying that they played brilliantly, it was a combination of Wigan giving it all they had against a City side who couldn't be arsed, who down to 10 men by the time Wigan managed to score anyway. I think (hope) Arsenal will be a different kettle of fish. More fight, more passion, and a CL spot that they're chasing, made more intense by Chelsea beating us today. Arsenal should be going for it, and will hopefully finally allow us to lock the bloody relegation thread and start looking forward to next season, getting this last match over with.
  14. Great performance from the lads. We looked so full of energy and continued to push forwards. Shame about Benteke though, I really don't think that was worth another yellow. He was trying to control a high ball, nothing malicious in it at all. Trust Terry to make such a meal of it, tit. Very promising though, looks like we're really starting to build something here. Bent will most likely want to prove something if we play him against Wigan, so it looks like that could make for an interesting one. Just waiting for Tuesday now....
  15. Bloody hell, this game is ridiculous!

Can't see Wigan going down now to be honest. Norwich are more likely candidates. WBA won't want to lose another one now..

Regardless of what Baggies fans want, I can't see them wanting to lose 2 on the trot, especially to teams from the bottom half of the table. WBA are still going to want to climb as high as they can get, and for them, Norwich probably looks like an easy win. For the Wigan v Swansea game, I'm purely going to base my prediction on the fact that SURELY Wigan's luck has to run out at some point. They're in the position they're in for a reason, so surely they can't just switch on beat teams from the upper half of the table because they want to. Norwich and Wigan losses would be absolutely phenomenal for us.
  18. If there was any doubt that Gabby is a Villa legend, then surely today has erased that doubt. Massive result for us. We really didn't turn up today and we still won at Norwich, the team that have such a great home record. UTV!!
  19. Possibly more nervous for this than the Sunderland match now! Must win, should win, whatever we wanna call it, 3 points here will pretty much see us safe. Anything on top of that from Chelsea or Wigan will hammer it home. Please Villa, don't cock it up!!
  20. Absolutely phenomenal. I was at Uni at the time, rehearsing with a band. My missus and my Dad were watching and texting me updates. Can't even begin to explain the sheer state of euphoria I was in when "5-1 Benteke hat-trick" and "6-1 Gabby" came through. Really wish I'd have been around to watch the match but according to what I've seen on the highlights and from what VTers have been saying, this is the performance we've been waiting for all season. I was absolutely bricking it before this, but that was a result way beyond what any of us expected. 1 more win nearly guarantees us safety, so I'm just hoping that the confidence the team gained from this is used to their advantage on Saturday. UTV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
