I was feeling strangely optimistic about this one, but seeing the team sheet has given me something of a reality check. And the reality is fricking depressing.

Yes, started badly, as did the whole team, but grew into it and looked relatively comfortable. I would have him over Richardson.

Left foot with a high bounce, I didn't expect him to. And to be honest, there are very few of our entire squad that I would have backed to finish that chance.

I thought he was our motm today, got through so much work, tackling and running the entire game.

I like Sanchez, ok you have to take the rough with the smooth, but he offers us a lot. I think him and Gana were a good partnership in the middle today.

His skill on the ball is a joy to watch, the bit where he absolutely owned Cedric twice on the bye line was class, shame it was in our own half.

I don't particularly blame him for the OG, but he was again abysmal on the attack. Bacuna has to play RB against the weaker teams.

It was a pretty typical display from him today, but we certainly don't help ourselves. Playing the ball back to him on the edge of our own box when he has a man on him is asking for trouble.

His set pieces were quite decent, and he wasn't terrible today, but I was expecting far more from him, far more drive and guile. Disappointed in him so far.

Guzan was our MOTM, we were not very, very unlucky.

I would have liked to see Gestede in (or Kozak), not because he is good but because we have no presence in the box without him.

Westwood isn't the problem, the fact that he has been good enough to be a regular starter for the last three years is the problem. I think he is a decent enough squad player, and for £1m that is a bargain, a success. Worse players like Sylla, Tonev, Bowery etc weren't the problem, because they really weren't good enough so we just got rid. Westwood has been good enough, and that is the problem that hasn't been fixed for three years.

I think Albrighton's performances in the limited appearances he had towards the end of his final season with us showed that he had the ability, it was a mistake to let him leave. -

He looks like he has lost all confidence when he has the ball, in which case he offers us nothing. -
Perhaps the only player today to show the effort and spirit that we need.

Paid Everton far too much respect, they are a good team and I expected a defeat, but let's at least pretend that we deserve to be on the same pitch as them.

He was very poor today, but was ably assisted by Grealish in being one of the worst defensive combinations possible.

He was the only midfielder who didn't let them just run straight past him. Got on the ball too, needs to be starting.

You know we're bottom of the league right? Yes, I did say that we were desperate, that doesn't mean you have to abandon all semblance of gentlemanly conduct.

You don't win games being the nice team, see Chelsea last year. You have to have a bit of that in the side, although as people have said, Hart wanted the ball at his feet to hoof it up, nothing wrong with what Gestede did. Nice is not the same as sporting.

Come on, Gestede was clearly trying to throw it out for a goal kick, he point's to the goal several times to indicate that, it's not his fault Hart tried to control it and **** up So why does he charge after the ball the instant he has thrown it?

He got some luck today, but he deserved it, he hasn't much lately.

He showed glimpses of what he is capable of, but still seemed somewhat off the pace. A lot of his short passes seemed a bit off, still got to the receiver but not quite where they would have wanted it.
