Debatable. Gestede scored and Ayew helped change the game. What's up for debate? I would argue Gestede maybe. Ayew haven't gotten enough game time. We'll see. However, it does kinda feel like his villa career is over.

Happy with a win and a solid 2nd half. Tim changed it with the subs. On the other hand, the starting 11 wasn't really the best either. Don't care, won.

Really impressive how he has handled it so far. Great stuff. Hopefully Lescott and him gets a better partnership as we kick on. Would love to see Okore back who I feel extremely sorry for considering his injuries and how it's robbing him of his talent.

But we also brought in over 10 new players this season and it was getting written off fast. Tired of it. Tired of everything going tits up as always. As it stands, the seat under Sherwood is going to burn fast and we end up getting someone completely else. None of the last managers haven't really worked either.

So much hyperbole on this forum imo. Understand the frustration and I'm really disappointed too, but I do think we have much more capable players now than we have had in a couple of seasons. I cannot dispute that he messed up on strikers. I originally wanted Austin but the current lot is kinda baffling, specially when Ayew isn't really playing. Gueye as he looks phenomenal and as a finished article. Amavi has the potential to be one of the best LB's in Europe if he keeps progressing. Traore is exactly the type of player I have wanted for Villa for some time but no idea how good he can turn out to be. Very exciting player. I'm pretty happy with every signing we have made this window to be fair. Some might not work out at all but even being cynical I'm very impressed with how they managed all this with the funds we had. Maybe a question mark behind the money spent on Ayew but only time will tell. Gil, Grealish and Sinclair also feels new to me.

Not a fan of Martinez at all. I like their squad and I see them as one of the more respectable clubs in the PL right now. My guess is that they will finish 10th this year.

James Pearce has stated it numerous times now that it ranges from 6-9 depending on appearances. Would say they are pretty reliable considering it's about Liverpool.

I am extremely happy with this window when it really comes down to it. Some really rated talent instead of the unknown we have had for some time. Only worry I do have is nearly every team in the PL has done so this window, never seen something like it. In the end, it really comes down to how we perform on the pitch(thankfully). Striking options seems pretty bare right now but Ayew deserves much more time imo and Kozak has certainly deserved some games. It will also help having an older head at the back and getting all the players fit. We will have so many more answers in the next couple of months. I for one am really excited about this season. Ilori is also pretty interesting, specially since we can buy him.

Much more invidual skill in the team than I can remember we have had in the last years. But Tim must take action sometimes, really frustrating. Ayew or Kozak should have come on for Gestede. Really disappointing that we don't get this win because we were the better team. Frustrating. Really want to see how we do with everyone healthy and possibly a new striker? I'm not liking Gestede as a starter yet.

Unfortunately there are so many crap transfer 'sources' out there and (rightly) black listed, most of the credible ones are pretty late to the party with us. You get the feeling that by the time there's a proper link the player will have already been photographed 27 times at bodymore Heath or is on his way to another club. The potential to talk about the likelihood of a transfer is very short these days.. Wasn't there about 70 odd pages in the Adama Traore thread before the club actually announced it? Think all of our signings were pretty drawn out affairs except perhaps Jordan Ayew. Wasn't the Ayew signing a bit of a saga as well?! It was.
