  1. Probably not the wisest decision to open up the comments on this one BBC.
  2. Since little old Brighton secured promotion it peaked my interest of where teams have come and gone in the past decade. The year before Randy took over Swansea had finished 3rd in League Two, Hull were second in League One, Sheffield Wednesday had just won Promotion to the Championship through the play offs, Bournemouth and Huddersfield were mid table League One sides. Stoke City, Burnley and Leicester were scraping it out to finish in the top half of the Championship ( all failing), whilst Watford and Brighton bravely fought off relegation to League One. The PL table looked like this. At least we aren't Portsmouth. 1 Chelsea (C) 38 29 8 1 72 15 +57 95 2005–06 UEFA Champions League Group stage 2 Arsenal 38 25 8 5 87 36 +51 83 3 Manchester United 38 22 11 5 58 26 +32 77 2005–06 UEFA Champions League Third qualifying round 4 Everton 38 18 7 13 45 46 −1 61 5 Liverpool 38 17 7 14 52 41 +11 58 2005–06 UEFA Champions League First qualifying round 1 6 Bolton Wanderers 38 16 10 12 49 44 +5 58 2005–06 UEFA Cup First round 2 7 Middlesbrough 38 14 13 11 53 46 +7 55 8 Manchester City 38 13 13 12 47 39 +8 52 9 Tottenham Hotspur 38 14 10 14 47 41 +6 52 10 Aston Villa 38 12 11 15 45 52 −7 47 11 Charlton Athletic 38 12 10 16 42 58 −16 46 12 Birmingham City 38 11 12 15 40 46 −6 45 13 Fulham 38 12 8 18 52 60 −8 44 14 Newcastle United 38 10 14 14 47 57 −10 44 2005 UEFA Intertoto Cup Third round 15 Blackburn Rovers 38 9 15 14 32 43 −11 42 16 Portsmouth 38 10 9 19 43 59 −16 39 17 West Bromwich Albion 38 6 16 16 36 61 −25 34 18 Crystal Palace (R) 38 7 12 19 41 62 −21 33 Relegation to the 2005–06 Football League Championship 19 Norwich City (R) 38 7 12 19 42 77 −35 33 20 Southampton (R) 38 6 14 18 45 66 −21 32
  3. I can't speak about others and I don't really care about the carry on in the past at Villa Park...but I hate him because, with the exception of Tottenham ( who wouldn't let him) - he has systematically destroyed or helped to destroy, the last 3 clubs he has managed...and has somehow gotten away with it. The man is complete scum. Naive chairmen with little knowledge chasing short term gains and glory are ten a penny but a so called 'football man' who has been in the game as long as he has he should know better....but again, he doesn't care about these historic clubs, their fans, their stability or their future. He just spunks money up the wall chasing his own personal glory. £131m wage bill on gate receipts of 20,000. Nothing spent on infrastructure, nothing spent on the youth academy, nothing spent to benefit the future of the club. The man is as guilty as the people who run these clubs, perhaps even more so with his knowledge and background.
  4. Well that escalated quickly. Will do doubt be on a good bonus if he keeps them up. It won't compare to the 'bonuses' he got at Portsmouth for signing the likes of Benjani and Utaka but it will be decent for the retirement kitty.
  5. Koscielny. Never rated him and never will. The most overated CB going.
  6. There is shit, then there is shit. Then there is Eirik Bakke. Then there is Salifou. Then there is Djemba Djemba. Then, way, way down below below this lot is Gary Gardner.
  7. I would love to know his win ratio.
  8. Come on, I am really pleased for Jack. Judging by history he should be able to dine out on that goal for at least another 18 months.
  9. Not true. He has just brought (sigh) Alan Hutton on.
  10. End the season as you mean to go on? Gives me little hope. FYI the Reading team who lose 7-1 are currently losing at home to Rotherham. Says it all.
  11. If Spurs win the league. I kill myself.
  12. I don't think he is very fast though.
  13. The amount of times players have to go over to him, talk him, encourage him. He has some decent attributes, but he is weak. You only have to look at him anytime something goes wrong. I doubt he will go on to perform anywhere regardless of any abilities he may or may not have. He has a dismal mentality.
  14. Not if it is consistently happening everytime we come up against a top 6 team...along with the players we have compared to most teams in this division. That is a fundemental FLAW.
  15. Would take £5m. He is an absolute embarrassment when he doesn't fancy it like today. Seen braver 2 year old girls .
  16. I can't imagine the loud shouting to be Zola somehow..
  17. Gareth Barry hasn't had to run since about 2009 to be fair. He will not be coming back here this summer, he still has a bit to give at PL level.
