  1. If you haven't noticed, it's all about the money. They will still put a case forward to compete in the Champions League as well, it will be their cup competition. The point I was making though is that this is nothing to do with UEFA, even if this goes ahead, UEFA aren't just going to drop their own money spinning tournaments. If they don't leave their domestic leagues they will treat them in the same way as they do the current cup competitions by playing fringe players and kids.
  2. Discrepancy in the thread title, this is nothing to do with UEFA nor affects the Champions League This is something that has FIFA backing it which is a different organisation to UEFA This would be an entirely new competition in a league format that ends with a knockout, it will be a closed shop with no relegation. Basically trying to create NFL with Europe's biggest money spinning clubs by invitation only. This means if it gets the go ahead, it wouldnt mater if Man Utd finished 8th the season before. This isn't sport. The teams entering it will either leave their domestic leagues or use it as a competition for their reserves. If it was just a revamp of the champions league (as the thread title suggests), which teams could qualify for - that would be almost acceptable but this is something entirely different. Invitation only closed shop.
  3. I bet the people at Cazoo are ecstatic
  4. So a few weeks ago I had an argument with a few friends of mine who are Man Utd fans. Can't remember which game it was but Rashford took a shot which went wide but was clipped by a player as he shot and got a penalty for it. I said I've seen this hundreds of times over the years but never seen a penalty given for it. They argued that it was 100% penalty and other fans are just jealous because their attacking players are so tricky they win the most penalties. We disagreed but finished by me saying this will happen to Villa very soon and I'll send you boys a clip when it does. Last night Trez shot wide and was fouled in the process, I sent them a clip and not a single one of them has replied. Personally I don't think you should get a penalty if you get a shot away but it's the separate rules for Man Utd that are in place that really gets my nerves.
  5. So we've established that NowTV allows you to watch the Sky Box office games. What about the BT box office ones? I have a NowTV box in the garage that I disconnected when they blocked Plex on it, but cant be bothered to connect it up to check
  6. I bloody love IRN-BRU, its my favourite drink ever A goal for each item there is what I predict
  7. When the alternative is Keinan Davis as currently stands we need this guy back big time
  8. I don't understand how theyve come to a conclusion on who the "big 6" are anyway Traditionally in the 80's & 90's they used to use the same term but excluding Chelsea Tottenham and Man City, with us Everton and another team (Forest or Leeds maybe?) Then it became the top 2 When Man Utd and Arsenal were a 2 horse race before the Abramovic era.. Then it was the top 4 for ages, and now whilst we've been away they have come up with this big 6 again which somehow Tottenham are considered a part of despite not having won anything of note - and Arsenal who are dropping like a stone much like Man Utd If I was a Leicester or Everton fan I wouldn't be accepting this "big 6", I think they'll both finish above at least one of Arsenal or Man Utd, theyve both won more titles than Spurs in my lifetime as well.
  9. Its a very dangerous game to give all the power and decision making in the hands of 6 clubs, yes 6 as you only need 2/3 votes to make a change so if all 3 of the token clubs in Everton, Southampton and West Ham say no it wont matter one bit if the other 6 say yes. Before we know it the Premier League will be down to 12 teams with mid season money spinning competitions around the world. I would much prefer it if these so called big clubs went away to join a European super league, and then had to join at the very bottom of the English pyramid if they ever decided to come back. To be brutally honest I'd rather see some smaller clubs go out of business than see a closed shop at the top of the premier league. Funny how Liverpool come up with this idea now and not when they were finishing midtable 10 years ago
  10. Here you go, just forward to 1hr41 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000nf2k
  11. HAHAHA, that was less than 3 hours though
  12. Yep, I was just getting ready to write the same thing then saw your post. Those worried about Man City buying him purely for sell on profits can put their minds at ease. Unless they feel he's actually good enough to play for them they wont be buying him back.
  13. Do 2 different people use your account?
  14. No but the rights to show the games come up every few years, and no one company can buy all 6 packages. Hence Sky had to share it out when Offcom did the report all those years ago. This new non existing "PremFlix" of yours can't just show up out of the blue and buy all the broadcasting rights
  15. What I think the most unfair thing about all of this is that glory hunting plastic fans are the ones that are benefitting the most, as Liverpool and Man Utd will be shown every week regardless of who they are playing. Their fans will have all games included in their Sky/BT subs without having to pay a penny more If they are going down this route then the fairest thing would have been to divide all the televised games equally, then all fans have to pay the same or similar amount to watch their teams games. I can't remember the last weekend when either of the 2 mentioned clubs above didn't have their match televised.
  16. There was something similar at the start of last season showing Engels as one of the fastest in the league.. as I said then, the likes of Adama Traore and Sterling weren't on the list so it's either only being taken from a selected few games or the machine is broken lol
  17. Wasn't going to watch the first half as I was sure Southgate wouldn't pick him to start. Will definitely be tuning in now. Feels like a bit of a B team though, not many of the team tonight will be starting in the Euros tournament.
  18. Damn I can't count!! 24 it is! haha
  19. Yeah, apparently they look at the age of the player 1st January in the calendar year which makes no sense, but that's how it works
  20. With the first part of the window closed, a good time to evaluate our squad and see where we stand with the 25 man rule: GK: Martinez, Heaton, Steer, Kalinic DEF: Mings, Konsa, Engels, Hause, Targett, Taylor, Cash, Elmohammady, Guilbert MID: Luiz*, Nakamba, McGinn, Hourihane, Barkley, Lansbury, Ramsey* WING: Grealish, Trezeguet, El Ghazi, Traore FWD: Watkins, Wesley, Davis* *Not including the U21s I make that 25 so you can see why Jota and Nyland were released
  21. By the time the next game comes around he would have been here 2 years as he joined during the International break in October 2018 What a magnificent appointment, every year just gets better and better. Those calling for his head 7-8 months ago must be feeling very silly now
  22. For the first time in about a decade I feel like every player in the team is good, with no passengers. But I guess there always has to be one scapegoat, seems like its Targett this season
  23. I was thinking that, but then realised Barry made his initial debut quite young before he was dropped for a few years for England, so most of the extra 13 were probably during that period
  24. I remember they were celebrating it as Villas "England kit" and had numbered all the England internationals we had produced, so Barry must have been #62
