  1. justice to be fair - they should have had 1 pen and they got 1 pen
  2. Dion said "it was definitely contact with the upper body so not a pen" Have I missed a rule change?
  3. If that'd been a challenge on Dion he'd have been fuming. I'm embarrassed that it wasn't a pen to be honest.
  4. He's: 10% messi/ronaldo/maradona/pele in their prime 80% anonymous 10% qwop Love him
  5. For all the gs apologists I have one question - if he quits at the end of the season, which prem team's fans will welcome him with open arms as their new manager? I honestly can't think of a single place where he'd been seen as am upgrade.
  6. Is this your formal application for the job? Its a yes from me.
  7. People keep saying this is unprecedented but Swindon Town won promotion (via the playoffs) to the top tier in 1990. A couple of weeks later they were found guilty of financial irregularities and relegated TWO DIVISIONS. Was reduced to one division on appeal. So yeah, ten points is a lot but imagine winning the playoffs, then getting relegated before the season starts. And to top it all off you live in Swindon.
  8. Would leave them with a back four of AWB, Verane, Reguilon, and Jonny Evans. They are thin for quality at the back.
  9. I'll remember this one for more than a week. Absolute hilarity.
  10. This capitulation makes great viewing. They've got some easier league fixtures coming up that might paper over the cracks, but they look awful even when they win.
  11. would be great if he came back, with jj and moreno out we lack some drive on the left not even sure the above is true but i've had a couple of drinks and thought i'd annoy a few people by bumping this thread
  12. Not taking anything away from forest - they had a plan, stayed narrow expecting they could deal with balls from wide, and they executed it well. That said, in their wildest dreams I doubt they thought they'd get a goal that early (which allowed them to dig in) and then get the sucker punch straight after the second half kicked off. And two goals from players who haven't scored that many between the in 2023. From our side we gave Aina acres for the first strike, and the second was a rare Emi blunder. We also lacked players to drive at them - Moreno, Ramsey and to some degree Buendia were sorely missed. Things went against us and they were solid. It happens, and they're no mugs at their patch. Nine points from the next three games and all will be forgiven. More than ten points from the next five and I'll build a shrine to UE in one of my kid's bedrooms. I'm sure they'll understand and it's always warm in the laundry.
  13. This is a Herculean effort and much respect is due. That said, I hate you for having this much spare time in your life. You could've been babysitting my kids.
  14. The plurality of forest fans thinknwere in for a good day at least. The Polish Cafu gets us over the line. https://www.forestforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/official-matchday-thread-nottingham-forest-vs-aston-villa-sunday-november-5th-2023.51636/
  15. There's got to be a chant for this in the away game
  16. I also have zero information regarding the question.
  17. The correct and only answer is "because he's 6 foot 4". Cheerleading for big players has been happening for the last few years.
  18. As a kid I always took the poppy as a symbol for remembering those who made an unthinkable sacrifice in war. Reading his comments I see how it's different depending on where you're from. Hard not to respect that. The irony of Lest We Forget while at least two wars rage on isn't lost in me either. I'm not sure we've remembered much of anything.
  19. My logical brain agrees with you but I've also been thinking "how do we sign the next step up without European football" for at least 18 months. Hope there's another Moreno-esque target (inb4 Matt) out there.
  20. Would have to be a permanent deal or we couldn't loan Januzaj
  21. If anyone's not "very optimistic" at this point they must have some big dreams
  22. Yeah it's bizarre that barely a yeah ago i would have taken a draw at home to fulham. now it's a banana skin if we don't win. Very few teams have gone from being that bad to this good so quickly. Back to Luton - I hope they stay up purely for Marv but realistically Bournemouth should win that 4 team mini-league with the players and experience they have. I think those four will be bad enough that the likes of Everton will pull away long before the end.
