  1. I'd reply but @sidcowalready said everything more eloquently than I could!
  2. Mate, I've got to ask - what are you basing this lack of patience on? People keep bringing it up. SG? Deano? Tony Xia? And the bit in bold - do you actually believe that or are you using hyperbole for effect? I'm fine with the latter, otherwise that's going to need a bit more detail.
  3. In a post match interview Emery headbutts Jamie Carragher, who drops to the floor like a sack of spuds. As Unai walks away, the microphones faintly pick up the words he mutters under his breath; "and good ebening to you sir".
  4. We all love his moments of magic - when he's hot he's a top six player. Problem is when he's not, he might as well be sat in the stands. I think we've shown we don't have room for passengers at this point, and while he might come up with a few worldies, he's probably a net negative vs someone with less talent and more consistency. I love him, but I don't want him starting with things as they are now.
  5. Who knows at this point. if he plays in nets vs Baggies he'll have covered the full eleven this season for QPR.
  6. Even if the GOP take the Senate and the House, doesn’t that just mean two years of federal stalemate and public slamming the other side? I guess it depends on Biden's stomach for vetos, but he could effectively veto every bill because there’s little chance of a 2/3rds majority in both houses on anything. Unless one party gets a significant majority in both houses and holds the WH, I think we’re on for another 2 (4?, 6?) more years focussed more on posturing that policy. In which case those SCOTUS seats and gubernatorial elections look even more influential.
  7. Nah, we'd bring back Alan Wright for a hero's return.
  8. Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, Fernando Torres to Chelsea, and Andriy Shevchenko to, er, Chelsea. Veron and Di Maria to Man U, Kaka to Real and Coutinho to Barca all stick in my head too. Too soon to say if he's up there with them yet, but if he finishes the season like he started it then yeah, it's not great.
  9. Make sure you get west of the Rockies before you settle. I took a one hour flight recently where I left in shorts and and a t-shirt and arrived to 18 inches of snow.
  10. Decent week. JPB's goal was a thing of beauty. Wright with a great driving run and through ball. Ramsey off the markwoth a brace, aided by the fact that Pukki is too good for that division. Also, how much better are Championship highlights? You get actual commentary. Groundbreaking.
  11. I only caught the first half of them vs West Ham but I'm not optimistic. They looked hungry for the ball and tidy when they had it. The last time we beat them at our patch, the UK leadership battle involved Oliver Cromwell. I won't be upset if we lose, as long as we put up a fight.
  12. If only there was a homegrown manager available to come in and restore the passion of that great club.
  13. As someone who has skin in the game and belief in crypto, I can't even begin to say how much I agree with the bit in bold. Sure, an FTX stadium sponsorship would probably be fine, but any club that endorses a crypto project without massive amounts of due diligence is basically saying to fans that "you may receive an email from a Nigerian prince, and it's probably ok to take it at face value". While a lot of people are capable of independent critical thought, Small Heath knuckle-draggers are going to get sucked into literally any kind of scam. I'd even go as far as to say it's a shame that it's their own club that is complicit in the deception.
  14. There are posters on VT whose use of punctuation is a crime against humanity. I think you can let the odd idiom slide. Sounds like Big Wes is going backwards in the second tier of Spanish football. He was a gamble when we bought him, but that injury has absolutely destroyed his career. Really feel for the guy.
  15. I think 50+ points (that means averaging 1.5 PPG) would be a decent finish, especially if we can start to see how it's all coming together (that would have been enough for 11th or higher last year). He's going to try some things that don't work, but I'll remain optimistic if we hit that and lose some games where you say "I see what he was going for but it didn't work out". I think we need to keep expectations realistic given the start we've had and the teams we've played - there's a lot of work to be done but I think if anyone can shape us into a team to be challenging for the top 7 next year, he's it.
  16. I think Emi could end up being the player that other team's fans really hate. Which does indeed make him more likeable.
  17. Has the same number of England caps as Danny Drinkwater. Also didn't realise Chambers has 3 as well.
  18. He's a wild card. Throw him on in the second half and you could get gold or a complete passenger. It's a coin flip. I think he's a squad asset for a team looking for that 9-14th place finish, which frankly is where we are right now. I don't think he's a regular starter though.
  19. I think the idea that he did what everyone was thinking is underplaying the sum of his decisions. McGinn and Ramsey benched? Sure, pretty popular. Same with Buendia in. Dendonker and Doug? Fairly popular. Watkins on the right and Bailey on the left? I didn't see many advocating for that. Ings instead of say, Archer? Maybe people were guided by frustration, but wouldn't say it was unanimous on VT. Maybe each one had between 60% and 90% support, but anyone who's ever placed an accumulator knows that the more "likely" choices you have to make, the more tricky it is. I'm not saying he's the second coming of Pep, but at the other end of the scale his lineup today wasn't obvious to everyone. It certainly wasn't to me anyway. Credit to him. That said, lose the next three and it's cabbage time, Danks for nothing, etc.
  20. Picking a MOTM was so hard for all the right reasons. Inb4 kennethewilliams.jpg
  21. I think you missed an SG / Can Archer joke in one of those.
  22. Respectfully youve managed to talk nonsense before your first sentence is even complete. This talk of Villa fans being a bunch of impatient moaners who don't get behind the manager is based on what exactly? Twitter? Don't mean to single you out but it's the same themes coming up over and over again. Unless you think people have been unreasonable with SG (or you spend time on Twitter) I don't see that it has any real grounding.
  23. People keep mentioning patience like we got rid of SG after three months. He had a full year, two transfer windows, a bunch of cash and we look worse than we did when he started. If the new guy comes in, spends £100m and we're in the drop zone this time next year, playing boring football that's devoid of any identiable system and with player morale at rock bottom, then yes I think our patience will run out. But I don't think that's unreasonable.
  24. I'll concede that point for the sake of argument. What about the rest of my long post?
