  1. 1. Is Sean Dyche a good manager? Yes. 2. Is that based on years of his team playing a brand of football that none of us want to watch? Yes 3. Is that his only blueprint for success or can he get a team winning while playing entertaining football? No idea. It's #3 that's the problem. And for people saying we can play hoofball, get stability, then change - aren't we just back to square 1 next season, trying to implement a new system with a manager who hasn't played that way before? Or are we sacking Dyche at the end of the season (after getting us up the table) for a big payoff to bring in another manager to implement a new system that the players are used to? Because that's also back to where we are now. If the ambition is a stadium upgrade, packed seats and nights in Rotterdam, Dyche isn't the right fit. I absolutely respect the job he did at Burnley though - and on a budget that even Doug would have described as thrifty. He's good, but he's not what we need.
  2. Got to cut him some slack - we've all aged ten years in the last two months. If SG was still here, Matty Cash would've had a head like a cue ball by Christmas.
  3. If I wanted advice from Dean Saunders it'd be on how to beat a breathalyser.
  4. This won't get the love it deserves. It's a crime that I can only like it once.
  5. Odds aren't a function of probability so much as a function of profitability. If people put money on Liz Truss to be our next manager, odds will shorten.
  6. We've got people on here defending him.
  7. Looking forward to reading about how another manager couldn't do better.
  8. At this point there isn't a single positive metric to pull for SG. We're drowning in objectively terrible stats. Hard to argue that were not a relegation contender without a change.
  9. @HornsoI think I speak for a lot of people when I say you're a ray of sunshine in stormy weather. Thanks for doing all this - it's obviously a lot of work.
  10. You've been saying (repeatedly) that you thought we should have bought more players in the summer. Are you now saying you're ok with a better manager but only if he isn't allowed to spend money? Of course Poch or any new manager will want to bring in new players - especially when we don't have any wingers because... You can't just write a Haiku and throw logic out of the window.
  11. People use the word "disaster" too flippantly. Here I think it's an understatement.
  12. There's a flip side to that - some of your points (e.g. Poch wouldn't do any better with the current players, our squad isn't good but Ollie is more talented than Andy Grey, etc) are rebuked in detail and you don't respond. The evidence against is just ignored. That's frustrating for everyone else. Back OT, I think SG is a dead man walking. Owners are probably in talks with more than one replacement, just keeping him on while legal matters are sorted both with him and his replacement. Maybe I'm living in a dream land but I don't think they'd let him go without some idea of who the replacement might be - even if it's not a nailed on certainty (which in fairness they'd get slaughtered for if they did).
  13. To be fair to him I have two kids, he has four, my job is way less stressful than his and he's two weeks older than me. After a rough week and a few pints I look like someone dredged up Ian Dowie from a dirty lake. He just looks like a pissed bloke.
  14. The only logical alternative that you're suggesting here is that we give SG more money to bring in "his" players - in addition to the 9 he already got in...
  15. It's getting a bit like the end of a match where the ref lets a team take a throw-in deep in their own half before blowing for full time. I honestly don't know what the board are expecting to happen that would change anything.
  16. I honestly wouldn't care if you all put your names in and envelope, sent it to Purslow and he picked one at random at this point. At least we'd get a Netflix series out of it.
  17. I would have had to get up at 6am to watch it where I am. Stayed in bed. Correct decision.
  18. If anyone gets The Times or has access, I shot the the photos for this artice in Saturday's magazine. Weird since I live in Canada now, but was kind of cool to get a UK-based job. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/i-got-high-on-a-magic-mushroom-trip-at-a-13-000-psychedelic-retreat-vw9860qwb
  19. She should have said that it's also down to the people - she needs more quality from her big hitters, some moments of magic.

    The NSWE Board

They are not immune to criticism but at the same time have a lot good faith in the bank. The SG appointment has proven to be a poor choice. The bit in bold is at best very debatable though.
  21. So you're not a better fan than "not a fan"? I'm not there yet on wanting to get beat to get rid of SG, but only because I'm weak and a hammering by Chelsea will ruin my week. I completely understand how people could be for it though.
  22. It feels like we're in the "crawling to freedom through five hundred yards of shit smelling foulness I can't even imagine" part of this movie. Hopefully we're near the end.

    The NSWE Board

I don't get the "owners have lost interest" sentiments. SG has been backed to the tune of £70m or so, and four of the players he bought in make up our top 5 earners. He wasn't exactly digging in the bargain bin. They've backed him and it's failing. No reason to think they won't back the next manager. They are the last people at the club that I'm worried about.
