  1. Wouldn't surprise me to see him turn up in Saudi for one last payday. No club in Europe will go anywhere near him, he's toxic, plays shit football and p***** off nearly every player he manages and for the last 14 years he hasn't been anywhere near as successful as he was in the 2000's. Since he left Inter in 2010, he's only won two league titles and hasn't reached the CL semi-finals since 2014. He's also only won one trophy since 2017.
  2. I'm of the view that FFP or PSR should be more strictly implemented than it currently is. Out of the PL clubs+ the 72 FL clubs, the number of clubs that are self sustainable is in single figures, which is ridiculous.
  3. Horrible team, deserve to go down. Tarkowski is a horrid c***.
  4. Brilliant by Beterbiev, Smith had a few moments where he caught him and had a bit of success but couldn't cope with him. Bivol vs Beterbiev next please. I'd pay for that on PPV if that was only the fight on the card.
  5. I think the main difference will be the weight this time. He seemed to be really struggling to make 168 for a long time before the Canelo fight and only kept making the weight for the payday against him. In the 2 fights he's had at 175 he's looked a lot better and has stopped two at least top 15 guys in the world in brutal fashion. Still going to be a very very difficult for Smith, but I wouldn't rule out a Smith KO.

    Liverpool

Is there an argument Klopp has underachieved at Liverpool given that he's now into his eighth full season and he's only won four major tophies. ( 1 League, 1 CL, 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup). Given for the most part over the past five years he's had at least the second best team/squad if not the best team/squad in England.
  8. Should never have sacked Van Gaal 7 years ago. They've spent probably near a billion since and all they've got to show for it are 2 League Cups and a Europa League.
  9. I really want to see Bam Rodriguez against Inoue if Inoue stays at Super-Bantam. Rodriguez moving up to super-fly next to hopefully fight Estrada. Maybe a fight we can see in 2025?
  10. Good win for AJ, best performance for a while. He'll fight Hrgovic for the IBF in late spring/ early summer. Shame that the heavyweight fights we should have had over the past 5/6 years have never happened and won't now. Needs to be a lesson to fighters to not wait around for the payday's and actually get into the ring. Even the likes of Andy Ruiz, who some might argue is a level below, has had 2 fights since losing the rematch to AJ four years ago ffs.
  11. If AJ wins, he'll fight Hrgovic for the IBF after the winner of Fury/Usyk vacates it. If he loses, can see him retiring. That fight does nowhere the numbers it would need to be a last payday for either of them. Saudi won't pay for a fight between two heavyweights coming off losses and it doesn't do a stadium in the UK. Probably doesn't even sell out the 02 or MEN.
  12. Shame we never saw AJ vs Wilder at their peak for the undisputed heavyweight championship, would have been a great fight. Wilder is done now, let's see what AJ can do against Wallin.
  13. The time has come for VAR to be binned off. It was meant to be used for clear and obvious errors but when they spend 5 minutes drawing lines for an offside or spending ages reviewing various angles it's clear it's not being used for that anymore. Let's not forget the obvious errors they make regarding the rules and the implementation of them. Or the fact Mike Dean said he didn't send a ref to the monitor because he's his mate and had a rough game and didn't want him to change his initial decision. Football has never been and never will be perfect. They are still making huge and obvious mistakes with VAR. Get rid and go back to them actually officiating matches. The whole waiting to see what happens in regards to offsides before flagging really p*sses me off. It could lead to serious injuries even though there's a clear offside.
  14. Moyes was given a fair bit of money, not as much as the top clubs or even us at the time but still considerably more than other clubs. He had the 7th biggest wage bill and finished 7th or there abouts for the most part. As I said, he's a good manager that has a ceiling. He's far from outstanding.
  15. He took Everton to the Champions League qualification rounds where they were knocked out at the first hurdle. The season they qualified, Liverpool practically gave up and focused on the CL latter stages from April onwards. They also finished 11th the season after. As I said, he's a good manager that has a certain level. He's also failed miserably at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland. Barry was an outstanding player and then moved onto win the league at City whilst being one of the first names on the team sheet that season. When Moyes went onto 'bigger' things, he was awful.
  16. Moyes is not an outstanding manager. Never won a domestic cup and won a European trophy that I would expect every English club to win (including us this season) given the relative strength of the English sides compared to the other teams. He's a good manager to a certain level and managing a side to finish 7th-10th is that level.
  17. I wonder when United fans and the likes of Neville in the media will realise that spending money isn't the answer. They've spent well over a billion since Ferguson left and they're as shit now as they were in that Moyes season. Maguire- £80M Mount- £55M Di Maria- £60M Pogba- £90M Sanchez- £40M Lukaku- £60M Antony- £82M Well over £400M wasted on those above. But their entitled whiney fanbase will no doubt blame the Glazers for not spending any money even though they've spent a fortune and Neville will have a meltdown on Sky and think because they are 'United' they should be at the top of the league and be the best of the best. Long may their suffering continue.
  18. It's the wrong decision. Whenever we've had momentum as a club and that hasn't happened often over a long period of time, we always seem to shoot ourselves in the foot and it's the reason why Villa Park is still in the state it is now and not had a major upgrade in 20 years. The North Stand isn't fit for purpose, whether we are Champions League, Europa/Conference League, mid-table or fighting relegation. It wasn't fit for purpose when I went into my first game in there in October 2005 and it certainly isn't now. The costs will only increase the further it goes on. It's the first big kick in the teeth of the NSWE regime. Man United- 72K West Ham- 66K Spurs- 62K Liverpool- 61K Arsenal- 60K City- 54K but they're going to 60K+ Everton- 53K once their new stadium is completed Newcastle- 52K Sunderland- 49K
  19. From my point of view MOTD served a purpose, but in 2023 that purpose has gone. They certainly shouldn't be spending hundreds of millions on the rights to show highlights a large portion of their target audience have seen on Twitter/X five hours earlier.
  20. There's a reason as to why ITV/ Channel 4 or 5 didn't bid for the rights and it's because it's not commercially viable.
  21. I think there is a very good argument for a stripped back service of BBC 1, News and 5 Live paid for by a much much smaller fee. For example, I grew up watching MOTD, but in 2023 when the goals are on Twitter/X at 5:15 on a Saturday from Sky Sports why are the BBC paying the PL a fortune for highlight rights? The BBC as it functions has had it's day and it's to move on.
  22. Think there was a very good player there at some point, scored on his debut and seemed to be doing well under Van Gaal. Then Mourinho came in and he's never looked the same player since bar a few purple patches under Solskjaer.
  23. I still think they're done, facing a massive short fall in the cost of their stadium, on the brink of admin and will have to sell in Jan. More of a last stand than anything else. Can easily see Braithwaite and Doucoure moving on in Jan if not a few more. Luton have got something about them which gives them a chance, especially at home and I wouldn't bet against Burnley having a good run in the second half of the season. Sheffield United are done though.
  24. Another defeat for England. They must be hoping that Buttler can hang on until the T20 WC in the summer and try and salvage something there. But I would have him replaced now, he's quite clearly not a captain and he's so badly out of form it's a joke.
  25. Squad's been announced for the white ball tour of the Carribean next month. No Hain in either squad... What more could he do to get picked ffs
