Well he did explode out of nowhere to be fair. Was never really talked about as the next big thing, made a sub appearance each under Redknapp and Villas Boas and spent time on loan at Leyton Orient, Norwich and Leicester without doing anything remarkable. Played a few games under Sherwood and then exploded the following season under Pochettino from October time and never looked back.

This team/squad has been living off past glories for a long long time. I'd like to see a line up something like this going forward: Crawley (C) Jacks Hain Duckett (WK) Salt Brook Livingstone Curran Tongue Carse Atkinson And then the likes of Ahmed, Luke Wood, Kohler Cadmore, Banton, Lawrence, Brown and Mahmood if he can ever get fit in and around the squad. And bin off Mott and either beg Morgan to take the job or give McCullum a ridiculous amount of money to coach all formats.

The only reasons this WC format exists is because the more games India play, the more revenue the ICC can generate. Ideally, i'd have two groups of five. Top 8 ranked teams in the world plus two qualifiers. Top two from each group go through to the semi's etc, nice and simple and cuts out any pointless unnecessary games.

We've won 13 out of 27 completed ODI's under Mott. That includes 4 wins against the might of the Netherlands and Ireland. So 9 wins out of 23 against the major test cricket nations. Dreadful.

Well this is practically win or bust now against South Africa. Just got the feeling of a once great team that has just gone on one or two years too long. Only 4 members of the squad under 30.

Turns out we're not the only sports team having issues with them. They can't even get the font and size correct of the word 'England' across the cricket teams World Cup shirts. Absolute amateur outfit.

That was an absolute battering. It does seem like it may be one step too far for once a magnificent team who have grown old together. Only 4 players in the squad under 30.

Feel sorry for the lad who's making his debut and just bowled that over. 4 no balls and went for 17 in total.

Don't think he'll go on tour to India as I can see England picking a similar squad to the one that toured Pakistan last winter, with the back-up batsmen also capable of bowling spin so the likes of Jacks and Livingstone. Can see him going and playing on the white ball tour of the Windies in December though, as I think England will rest a lot of the World Cup squad ahead of the tour of India in Jan.

Surely it's time to go to one shot quali? One lap, first in the Championship goes first etc meaning the person who is last gets the better conditions at the end? The traffic jams are ridiculous and will surely cause a massive accident sooner rather than later Just seen at least 6/7 cars crawling around the last corner whilst other cars were flying through on hot laps

If Roy wasn't injured and in bad form himself, Root would be under serious pressure for his place in the side. Hasn't hit an ODI century since the 2019 World Cup and only has 5 half centuries since.

Everton getting taken over in a deal which is apparently worth £500m, even the group buying them missed making a payment of £500k to the British basketball league last summer. That's only going to end in tears.
