  1. On the subject of Federer, he's the GOAT without doubt. I hope he carries on until the 2020 Olympics to add the Olympic single gold to his list of achievements as it's the only thing missing IMO. With Murray, I think he's got possibly got one last swansong at Wimbledon in him and then that will be it. Hopefully Edmund can build on his fantastic Aus Open and start making progress in other GS and Masters 500/1000 tournaments.
  2. It was 06-07 that Sheffield United were our closest game, as West Brom and SHA had been relegated the season before.
  3. Agreed, Curran has been treated appallingly. Can't believe that James Whittaker is still in a job.
  4. Test squad for NZ: Joe Root (Yorkshire), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), James Anderson (Lancashire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Alastair Cook (Essex), Mason Crane (Hampshire), Ben Foakes (Surrey), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire), Dawid Malan (Middlesex), Craig Overton (Somerset), Ben Stokes (Durham), Mark Stoneman (Surrey), James Vince (Hampshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham). Can't believe that Vince and Stoneman are in the squad, whilst Ali and Wood are also very lucky to have been included.
  5. Absolutely fantastic today, best performance since the FA Cup Semi-Final against Liverpool.
  6. Even Stevie Wonder would see that Jedinak cannot play at CB.
  7. I think it's been pretty dreadful, to be honest. Alison Mitchell is good and Boycott is ok in very small doses, but other than that it's diabolical. The worst thing is the incessant talking throughout play, it's **** irritating beyond belief. Looking forward to the NZ series when Sky will be back.
  8. Woakes' best day on this tour by a mile, but Aus will still win the test quite comfortably. Out of the squad on tour this is quite comfortably our strongest XI, yet we don't look like winning a test let alone the series.
  9. If they aren't playing by 4 I think I'll call it a night.
  10. This is going to be a long long series.
  11. Everton fans have delusions of grandeur if they think they're capable of appointing anyone like Ancelotti. They have no chance of CL football and a massively disjointed squad with glaring holes in key positions. They also have no player they can sell for mega money next summer to fund an overhaul of the squad.
  12. I would love to know why the bid isn't compliant. No-one else even wants it ffs
  13. Baffled that Ballance and Vince have been selected, whilst Leach or Rashid should be going ahead of Crane. Hopefully Hameed regains his form next summer and he could potentially fill in at 3.
  14. Chipsticks are far too low for my liking.
  15. I'm pretty sure that on 5Live on deadline day, they said that Wolves are paying their players who they've brought in due to the Mendes connection significantly less than we are to the likes of Richards and McCormack. Plus, as OBE mentioned above they've got quite a few players who they could sell on for a decent profit if they needed to.
  16. Agree about Pollock, he's had a brilliant debut season and his performance in the semi-final was fantastic.
  17. Our running has been shocking in the final, so many 1's that could have easily been 2's and Pollock being run out.
  18. Play suspended at the Oval after a crossbow bolt was fired onto the pitch and landed on the square.
  19. Sevco fans aren't happy that Martin Tyler called the current incarnation of their horrible club 'new'. Sevco fans don't like the truth.
  20. The last time Barca looked like this was under Martino in 13-14, they finished 3rd in La Liga and was knocked out in the QF in CL. Add Rakitic and Suarez and they're treble winners a year later. Add Coutinho and Dembele and they will be challenging for the CL this season.
  21. He really wasn't. They're as bad as each other.
  22. Just saw that England have given 22 players their test debut since the end of the 2013 Ashes. Out of those, only Stokes and Ali have become regulars, whilst Ballance is a semi-regular. 15 of those have made 8 appearances or less. No doubt there will be more to come in the Windies series.
  23. Agreed, the introduction of the Pollock, Thomason, Mellor and now Hose seems to have given the whole team a new lease of life.
  24. Patel and Thomason both brilliant with the ball again. Have to wonder whether it's time for Bell to step down from the T20 side though.
