    Worthy GIFs 2018

    Certainly worth the wait.
  2. If you scroll across the original message you'll see I was aware.
  3. Cameroon's shirt is very scary. Shame we won't see it at the World Cup.
  4. I remember his scoring a cracker in the Premier League. I'm surprised you don't remember that one considering how you went on to win.
  5. Yes. But I think others could do it with more style/dominance.
  6. I don't know From watching some footage of him, he's quite a competent footballer and is obviously a top athlete. His ball control is good, he's an accurate header of the ball, is obviously quick over a short distance and seems to possess a useful shot and cross. His biggest weakness seems to be his anticipation. A fair few times he's caught short and doesn't predict a pass to him or is left flat-footed when a professional footballer would have been a few steps closer to the ball and would have put up more of a challenge. And also, he's a sprinter, so his stamina is clearly lacking, the stamina you would need as a footballer he doesn't have...yet . He's clearly working on building that up though so it must be improving every day. So he's quick but his anticipation and stamina are lacking but we could pump balls up for him to run on to and threaten the opposition's goal...and we thought Gabby was gone. The key thing for me is that's he's a champion and he wants to do this, he has the intent. I know a lot of people have that intent but not as many seem to be taking it as seriously as he is and are the fastest person on the planet. He's trained with a top club in Dortmund and their coach Stoger took it seriously enough to give him quite a critical response. That's quite a valuable experience. It's a reality check that may put things into perspective for him. I think he's been shown what it takes and how much work he has to do. With a realistic idea of how large his task is, he could have now upped his training etc with a firm idea of what it's going to take. @NurembergVillan mentioned the shirt sales would be high and the club needs money. It may be an unorthodox way to raise it. We would get publicity and the matchday tickets may also improve with people coming to watch him. I can't imagine his wages being too astronomical either. He shouldn't want to price himself out of a team seriously considering taking him on and making his wish come true. Plus, as I say, his appointment would generate some considerable income to cover any expenses. It would be seen as a publicity stunt and that's fair enough but it's not like we'd be getting an actor or celebrity in who is obviously going to fall on his face, we'd be getting someone who was the best at what he did and now wants to challenge himself with a new venture. An athlete who (Minus the chicken nuggets) has lived a competitive life and knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. Michael Jordan switched to Baseball and not just in Space Jam. And there have been others who have switched sports (With varying success) >>>> Bolt did actually tell Prince William not to support us and to support Man U instead so joining us could be his redemption But of course, there is no talk of him coming here, only me being hypothetical, and I wouldn't imagine Xia even considering it, so unless a @Bolt4Villa hashtag gains some traction on twitter it will always remain a dream of mine. I don't know. There's no harm in giving him a trial and maybe a contract until January in my opinion...see how he gets on
  7. I wrote a post on him earlier. I never thought of it from the shirt sale/raising funds angle. That's good thinking although I'm not surprised it was you who raised that angle. £40m worth of shirts though? Hopefully close enough.
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44300269 Finances are tight but surely we could rival any package being offered by Stromsgodset if they made that choice? And he can't moan about the weather here if he's training in Norway. Okay, it's another player dreaming of ultimately playing for Manure but pace, energy, composure, strength, height and personality........ worth it in my opinion. A few professionals (Xavi for one) and the Dortmund coach (Stoger) are unimpressed but what would they say about Samba? Haters gonna Hate and he's bound to have learnedfrom these previous trials. He's a champion (Yes, in another sport but he has that ability) but crucially has the will to succeed in football. You could argue Federer and Nadal (And a few others) are also winners and like football but the difference is Bolt has a desire to actually play professionally. Obligatory Highlights video Okay, there's room for improvement but my highlight from these highlights is the header he scores. He's one of the captains for Soccer Aid June 10th so we'll have a look then. I'm not sure what position he is but I'm guessing winger/forward type thing? If I'm never getting Ronaldinho or Leon Bailey (although I've not given up on either if I'm honest) in a Villa shirt, I'll settle for Bolt. He's surely worth at least a trial?
  9. Friedel Mellberg---McGrath---Evans Milner Platt------------------Townsend Houghton Withe---McParland---Yorke Special mentions for Alpay and of course King of the back pass Steve Hodge (Not only for Norwich's Poole but also the infamous slice for Maradonna's Hand of God) And even more special mentions for Morley, Mortimer, Cowans, and Shaw. Those that should have been but weren't
  10. He does pass well and look comfortable on the ball though. The problem for me when he played right back was that he wasn't adventurous enough. He played some tidy football on the right wing but the problem was it wasn't penetrating.

    John Terry

I see what you're saying now, I thought you meant Terry specifically. A massive overhaul is the key to redemption in 18/19

    John Terry

I'd wouldn't mind if he was manager next season. Even a coach. Be good to have his influence and attitude still present for the squad.
  13. Needs to improve his shooting. He's improving every game. Needs more energy from players around him in the middle of the park.
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44195987 Grant Holt to step into the squared circle.
  15. Let's play this man. Just for the bants. Proper Bantersaurus Rex style. Imagine him scoring the 93rd-minute winner.
  16. Yeah, I heard that one a bit differently as well - My friend got a personal trainer a year before his wedding. I thought: ‘Bloody hell, how long’s the aisle going to be?
  17. Derby should have never gotten rid of Bent, he would have put some of these away.
