I feel we need a redemption story = The redemption of Aston Villa from 'Play-off pain to Promotion' symbolised in one player, written off for past indiscretions but redeemed as a key part of an emerging Villa side. I know what you're gonna say, that those type of players poison team spirit and we are not a charity and we have too much toxicity in our recent past. But If we get the right type of one, I have a good feeling a maverick, a loose cannon, a rebel with a heart of gold, is the last piece needed for the resurgence of the mighty Villa. Merson, God, Les Sealey, Carew, Terry, Morely....I could go on (Please don't I hear you cry) It's not a Villa team without a firecracker, a radical, a free spirit, a controversial character who consistently inspires and enthrals. Who is the closest we have currently? Hutton? Balotelli is a free agent at the moment I know, I know...he's not a goalkeeper. And no, I haven't been drinking. Well, I have but not 8 pints lolol ? What's the story with Hatem Ben Arfa? Bad attitude? Poor fitness? Injury prone? Too high wage demands for his current form? Because I'm surprised he's remained a free agent. Or has someone snapped him up and I've not seen it? Or something else I'm missing? Because he's not a bad player, Although he should have scored that.

We've got to be careful though, as even though the window has slammed shut, Sky Sports, The Mirror and Twitter are reporting that due to his disappointment at not being able to join lovely, lovely Spuds he may fly around the Earth in an effort to reverse time in a bid to push the deal through. I'd be disappointed if he doesn't feature this season. I'm not saying instant starter but at least some substantial sub appearances. I want to see if he truly can cut it at first-team level. Anytime I've seen him I've been impressed - links the play quite well and plays with a good balance between attack and defence. And if he's around the first team, he can be learning from the players and the environment.

I think we will see Green chip in with a fair amount of goals and assists this season too.

He's not going anywhere now. In January, there may be an evaluation of where we are in the league and how likely it is looking that we are getting out of this division. And, if we're on track I think he will stay then too. If we are struggling, then he may go but otherwise, I think he'll stay. Basically, as long as we are improving and he is improving. He will stay a Villa player. He loves this team and will be the focal point of the side for a long time, as long as we are at a level or on a way towards a level of his ability. Yes, you may say he is already above a level we are at, but this season hasn't started yet and last season we were closest to being promoted you can be without getting promoted. He will want Villa to succeed as much as any Villa fan does and would love to be an integral part to our resurgence. "Yes, I agree with the above." See? He even says it himself.

Exactly the type of player we need in the first team, developing and learning, gaining the experience of being in the team.

He looks good. Looks to have a bit of oomph. It seems like he always wants to receive the ball and do something with it, the type of mentality we need.

I think we need linking players, especially if it gonna be a 3-5-2 that we play. The three sections of outfield players can look isolated with our current tactics. It's what Grealish is good at and it seems to be what Woodburn is good at so I'd welcome him and any others who play in a style that knits the team together. Cue knitting puns.
