  1. Anyone think we should cut our losses in January and try to get in another loan?
  2. Absolutely has to be Champions League qualification for me. We are good enough to win a cup this season but prioritising the Champions League will make us stronger financially and allow us to compete on another level next season. We don't need to be impatient because we are showing signs of progress already. Let's worry about winning a domestic cup next season when we potentially have a better squad.
  3. This guy is the best keeper in the world right now, no question of that now and a world cup winner. Based purely on that he has to be our best goalie of all time. Could have easily left in the summer but chose to stick with us, unlike some other players we've had in recent years. Genuinely loves us too. I'm certain he will win something with us, sooner rather than later and drive us on to bigger and better things.
  4. He's not our player so it may not be so bad long term but potentially losing a good player who is starting to make a positive impact will be hard to take. If it takes until Jan to sort out then I'm sure we can cut the deal short.
  5. Not going to settle on a judgement yet but on his current showings he's not won me over. Loses the ball too much and tries a little too hard. Needs to be less selfish and learn to calm down a bit. He's got potential but I hope he can show us what he's made of. Fingers crossed that his first goal will get him going.
  6. Not a fan, stick to the lion. I'm sure we can do something with that.
  7. I think today was less about us being poor but the opposition defending as if their lives depended on the game. Fortunately for us we did manage to breach their defence and get the goal just in the nick of time.
  8. First game with a fixed kit and we batter one of our biggest rivals. We're world class!
  9. No bad performances today, everyone did their jobs perfectly. Watkins easily MOTM, world class performance from him today. Hope we will see him sign a new contract soon.
  10. Our away form is usually mostly terrible so getting a win with a clean sheet is progress in my eyes especially after our disaster in midweek.
  11. I hate to say this but our squad might not be strong enough to compete in this competition if today was anything to go by. No issues with our strongest XI and a few more but there are maybe 5 or 6 passengers who aren't good enough. Imagine if we had played Olsen tonight....
  12. We can't afford to ever play that backline again, absolutely cost us the game. Should have started our best team, been out of sight and rested players. Not the other way round. Very poor from Emery too.
  13. Start with our strongest team but maybe start Tielemans for Luiz or Kamara, hopefully score a few early goals, put the game to bed and then rest the big guns for the weekend. Definitely won't be as simple as that.
  14. He is still 24 as well, so might even exceed Jack's ability by the time he hits 28.
  15. Do we really think that we're going to struggle? I might be massively wide of the mark but Alkmaar can't be far Hibs standard. Appreciate away trips will be hard but we should wipe the floor with our home fixtures.

Shades of Benteke tonight, will improve no doubt over the coming season. Looking forward to seeing him develop!
  17. Aside from that sliced shot didn't do much wrong, made some good interceptions.
  18. Wasn't convinced before but could be a decent third choice squad option for us.
  19. He might be used as a rotation option, particularly against inferior European opposition (if we get through tomorrow) but I doubt he will start a lot of games. The way I look at it is last year we had Bednarek and this season we have Lenglet as CB cover. It's not the end of the world but our squad options are immediately stronger.
  20. Still worthy of a place in our squad. So unpredictable.
  21. If I was in Birmingham I'd drive him up to Bramall Lane myself (only because it's about two miles north of where I live now so it wouldn't be too out of the way for me )
  22. Great result, goal difference at 0 - clean slate, we start again, effectively.
  23. He's a good looking version of Ian Olney....
  24. A potential 15 months out and given our direction of travel, and his age, I hope this isn't the last time we see him put on a Villa shirt. The sad thing is that he had really found his form again under Emery last season.
