  1. Completely agree. I'd potentially add Agbonlahor to that list as I think he has a lot to offer still. We need 2/3 quality players in January to ensure survival and then the younger lads next year will be more experienced and Lamberts plans can come to fruition. I still have complete confidence in our manager. Up the Villa
  2. I think this is the first time in 20 years that you could give me 11 players in a list and I'd have no idea where they're playing and In what formation. I'm not sure if this is worrying or not. I know lambert likes to switch things up depending on the opposition but I'm starting to think he doesn't have a clue about his best XI. I like lambert though so up the villa, will be tough today.
  3. We lost to arguably one of the best attacking teams in the world. We go again. In lambert we trust. Up the villa
  4. Would love Zaha and Ince here in January: ---------------------------Benteke--------------------------- Zaha-----------------------------------------------------Ince Never going to happen though. Hopefully we can find players of similar quality abroad for much cheaper. I think Lambert will surprise us in January.
  5. Pretty much this. It is certainly hard to dislike the player even if he isn't brilliant. A good pro.
  6. I'm really happy we have lambert at our club and really excited for the future. I believe given time he will bring in some very good players and have us competing again. It was a fantastic appointment and the future looks bright. Up the cilla
  7. Posted this in the Ratings thread for Lambert, wanted to get my point across in this thread as well if possible Under Mcleish it was different. We all knew the bloke was inept. The negative tactics/substitutions were no different today under Lambert but there was no light at the end of the tunnel under Mcleish. He had no pedigree as a manager and would never be a success. Lamberts subs today did exactly what they were meant to do, and that was to sure up the midfield and get that vital point at a club who will probably now go on and string a few wins together under a manager who is perfect for the situation they are in. It was a good point today and will go a long way in helping us stay up this season, if not the point on our total, but the lack of 3 on theirs. Ok, the football at times hasn't been pretty under Lambert but lets look at what he has done so far. He has already brought in Guzan, Vlaar, Lowton, Benteke and Westwood. These four players have easily been our best players this season. Just look at the other threads on the main board...'Westwood will be in United's midfield in 2 seasons time'...'We'll do well to hold onto Benteke at the end of the season'... Just look at the long term plan here. At the moment we aren't good enough to go to QPR (who had a spring in their step today) and pick up three points but I'm confident in 2/3 seasons time, under Lambert, we will. Our goal this year has to be to stay up whether it be pretty or not. There will be chances to play good football along the way and there will be times we need to dig deep and scrape a point in order to get to the magical '40' figure. Today was one of those times. Lets stay up, lets back Lambert and let's be positive. I think this bloke knows what he's doing. Benteke, Westwood, Vlaar and Lowton are evidence of this. I'm personally very excited to see what the team looks like after January and then after the summer. I have complete faith in Lambert and enjoy watching Villa play with the faith I have in him. Things WILL get better. Up the Villa. Like This

  9. I'd say more ----------------Guzan------------------ Lowton---Vlaar---Clark------******** ---------Westwood--*********--------- ------------------------------------------- *******--------Ireland----------Gabby -----------Benteke--------------------- The *'s are the spots that need strengthening. The others can wait until the summer.
  10. You're probably right! I Like Lambert and I thought the subs today actually gave us more of a foothold in a game we were getting battered in. Admittedly I'd have liked to have seen Ireland at some point but Delph (who I don't rate) didn't do too badly. QPR have some good players and Redknapp will get them playing again. Today wasn't that bad of a point. We do need to go and beat Stoke though.
  11. Impressed with Westwood again. Such Calmness and elegance on the ball at times. He wasn't at his best today but you can see he is a very tidy footballer. Would loved to have seen Ireland today as I thought the game was crying out for him to link up with Westwood just behind Benteke. But, In Lambert we trust. A good point, and we go again against Stoke.
  12. Bony and Benteke are very similar players, albeit Bony is more the finished article. Can't see us moving for him in Jan. I'd like us to go after Mertens/Tadic/lens or Chadli if we're going to raid the dutch league.
  13. Not sure about Baker. He worries me at the back and looks nervous. He is also too quick to just lump the ball up field. Be a tricky game this, can see us losing it.
  14. 5 of those players dont play, and the other two are crap. Replacing them with 4 good players would be a terrific bit of business.
  15. He will be when he see's next years kit.
  16. I've seen next years kit. Got a real touch of the 82's about it. You'll like it.
  17. Blatantly a case of money going to Sunderland if he registers another appearance for us. Not sure where we go with this as a club, but if its a couple of million pound we're talking then I say leave him out. I trust Lambert in January to go and get a few more good, willing players for the club so Bents sale could help with this.
  18. ---------------------------Benteke----------------------------- Gabby-------------------------------------------------Holman ----------------------------Ireland------------------------------ ------------------Bannan------Westwood-------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lichaj-----------Clark------------Vlaar---------------Lowton ------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------Guzan-------------------------------- 4-2-3-1 is our best system and has worked well for us of late. I'd bring in Ireland and push Holman out to the right as I think he offers more than Weimann. Will be a tough game this one. A draw wouldn't be the worst result if we can beat Stoke.
