Blatantly a case of money going to Sunderland if he registers another appearance for us. Not sure where we go with this as a club, but if its a couple of million pound we're talking then I say leave him out. I trust Lambert in January to go and get a few more good, willing players for the club so Bents sale could help with this.

Been impressed with Holman. I'd put him out wide second half in place of Weimann and bring Ireland in through the middle to break them down. Baker has been poor with Clark saving him at times. Oh, and Weimann shouldn't have had a penalty. Blatant dive.

I enjoy other people's opinions. It makes a great site. There is a big difference between that and the constantly ridiculous comments of some on here. There is only one or two mind. Think we'll win tomorrow night. Benteke with a goal or two.

Wiling to give the lad time but I dont think he is up to much personally. Him and Delph have been shown up as very limited footballers since Bannan and Westwood have taken over in Midfield.

There was no mistake with the Walker deal. He was brilliant for us and helped us survive that season. Spurs would never have given us him with the option to buy at the end because they probably knew how good he would turn out. Whilst I agree an option to buy is certainly better, in this case, I think we had no choice.

No. But I wouldn't say we were 'holding on' either. On the balance of play today, Villa were the better team.

'held on against Arsenal?' Apart from the last 5 minutes I thought we were the better team throughout. Crackin' performance from the young lads. Lot of positives to take from today and I also thought it was a good game. It was 0-0 but still a very decent game in the conditions. Really impressed with Bannan and Westwood in the middle. Holman also looked superb when he came on just in front. MOTM has to go to Gabby though today. On sheer effort alone he was fantastic. He lacked that final bit of quality at times but was brilliant throughout I thought. Bring on the next two games and hopefully we can take the performances from Utd and Arsenal in to them. Our goal this season needs to be survive and If we can, there is a lot to be positive about for the future. Lets just get behind Lambert and the boys. UTV.

We need to prioritize in January. A central midfielder is key, a big nasty bastard would be ideal to give us a bit more bite. I also feel we need a winger with excellent delivery. I actually quite like Gabby down the left but down the right we are weak. Holman, N'Zogbia and Weimann are all very average. Now that we have Benteke, we could use a genuine winger to put decent balls into the box for the big man to get his head on. Benteke has already scored some good goals for Belgium from excellent crosses. We could use that. We need 2/3 players for sure. Without them, we could be playing championship football next year.

Like that line up. I'd probably start Holman instead of Weimann but on the whole it looks good. Delph and Albrighton simply could not keep their places after the last match.

We cannot play Bent and Benteke together in the same team, simply because our midfield is not strong enough. Right now I believe we have to play with 3 central midfielders, one a little more advanced (Ireland) simply because we are so poor in that area. Benteke looks good though, we need some good wingers to provide him with good service. Would love Milner, Young and Downing back here. Sigh.
