  1. If he's good enough for Don Unai, he's good enough for me. He'll - and this is the important word here - coach him into a useful addition. Plus, this system should suit him more than Conte's did.
  2. They've become such a cowboy broadcaster since they decided to gradually populate the gaff with 'Sky Academy' graduates and social media morons. It's painful to watch, these days.
  3. As a reminder, guys, the draft is THIS SATURDAY. Be sure to edit your pre-draft rankings if you can't make it. Autodraft will still probably mess it up, but at least it gives you a shot...
  4. This is what I came here to see. It's such a good show. Season 2 in January or February. Looking forward to Fargo season 5 in November too.
  5. The most worrying thing here is citing Creep, of all songs, as the reason for being a Radiohead fan in the first place. It's not even the best song on Pablo Honey. I can appreciate not liking a band because of their fans though. There's plenty of bands I have that issue with...
  6. Happy with Troare as a Conference League player. He could do some damage against some of the lesser clubs, while giving our Premier League starters a much-needed rest. Same goes for some of the earlier rounds of the League Cup. That said, if a club wants to give us even market value for him (let alone Saudi money), I could see us taking it.
  7. Exactly the sort of player we're looking for! Reel him in!
  8. The lights in the kitchen are on, at least...
  9. Having inside knowledge* of how these things work, here's a probable timeline of events which, assuming there are no issues, may explain the delay: Plane arrives around 12:30-1pm yesterday. Arrives at BMH around 2-3ish (conservative with the timing here). Following a 4.5 hour flight (and likely 7-8ish+ hour travel day), opted to just have a look around and do basic tests/medical paperwork. This is normal if a player arrives off a fairly long flight and it's not deadline day. This also explains why the plane was told to stick around. Again, completely normal and easily arranged/financed at this level. A full sports medical takes several hours, so it's not something you're going to want to do, nor would our medical team want them to do, while travel weary. Other formalities looked at with his people (housing, travel, visas, going through standard non-contract documents, endless photocopying, probably had a chat over something to eat, etc) - the boring essential stuff - by which it would have been getting on for time anyway. They likely stayed at the Belfry last night, due to its high standing and proximity to BMH, hence his agent being there earlier. Today would then be the standard medical, adding the contract signature, and media day (photos, etc). *not at Villa, but it's more-or-less the same at any high profile club
  10. Even though the post is 10 years old, I'm so pleased to see this here. My favourite debut album. Sound-wise, I always thought it could have been a double album with Antics. There's not enough double albums these days. The early 00s (2000~05) had some outstanding debut albums.
  11. Bad day at the office. Annoying, but it happens. Unai looks fuming. Big week ahead!
  12. Kane wakes up a few days after the plane mysteriously crashes on the runway to find Daniel Levy standing over him
  13. Do you have a Castore top by any chance? Adidas are the only kit manufacturer who seem to get the sizes/fit right (for the reasons you gave...) and I've been trying to figure out what size Castore shirt to order. So a comparison with Adidas shirts is what I've been trying to figure out (a size up/down or equal to).
  14. I'd love a proper Adidas kit. Not the template EFL-clubs deal nonsense. I want the bespoke design team arrangement like Arsenal, Madrid, Juventus et al pay for.
  15. I really think, especially given the currently uncertain landscape of football games, Konami should have a real re-think of their strategy, especially considering it clearly hasn't worked. It sucks not having a viable yearly football game to play.
  16. The weird new trend amongst online football journalists of putting players' year of birth in their reports.
  17. I'm the guy. Can't stand motown or, by extension, northern soul.
  18. My comment is in the right thread!
  19. My mum says this exact line all the time. Loves The Kinks.
  20. I genuinely enjoyed it. Thought it was the best headline performance since Radiohead's in 2017 (Radiohead are probably another unpopular opinion in and of themselves ) It was nice to see McCartney perform mostly stuff from his solo career. Even Springsteen and Grohl were looking at him in awe towards the end (like, they couldn't actually believe what they were a part of) I saw him at Glasto 2004, where he played mostly Beatles stuff and I'd swap it for last year's performance in a heartbeat.
  21. Nothing against Oasis, but if we're talking global success, you probably have to put Zeppelin and Queen in (as much as I'm not a massive fan of either). That's the crazy thing about UK rock music, there's probably a good twenty-odd bands jostling for those four spots and everybody's going to have their own opinion. Given this is a Villa forum, I'm sure lots would try making a case for Sabbath, for example. It's an embarrassment of riches!
  22. Well, he produced Beatles songs 'Free as a Bird' and 'Real Love' which were derived from Lennon's demos of the songs. So perhaps indirectly with Lennon on a personal level, but directly in terms of his actual work. He worked/played on Ringo's album, Time Takes Time. He also performed as part of a one-off band with Starr as part of a Lennon memorial concert.
