  1. I only got into PT because they were one of my youngest son's fave bands and I'm so glad I did. Saw them live a couple of years back ( The Incident tour) and they were fantastic. Wilson is a genius IMO. I do actually like NoMan, I find it very relaxing tho I can see why people would find it boring and Blackfield are a bit hit and miss really, with some decent moments such as "Waving". Steven's solo stuff is utterley brilliant, Grace For Drowning is one of my favourite albums of the last few years.
  2. Call it a hunch, but I don't think it's going to happen.
  3. Did you give the Storm Corrosion LP a go, mate? Michael Akerfeldt's collaboration with Steven Wilson, it's worth a listen.
  4. I suppose if the ball's down the other end it's less likely to go in the Villa net! It's what you do with it when it's down there that counts and at the moment we're suffering by not taking chances, including some gilt edged buggers.
  5. Absolutely bloody marvellous. Got tickets for Birmingham O2 Feb 19th too.
  6. Forgive me if someone else has mentioned this, but for me it was when Sir Graham took the England job. I often think how far he could have taken the club in his first stint, everything was there and falling into place nicely, just a shame that left, especially when it turned out such a bad move for both parties. I also think that John Gregory leaving for the Wycombe job was another "what if" moment for Villa. I always thought he was a better coach than a man manager, which he proved when he started to p!ss certain players off.
  7. I heard that some noses in the ground heard that they'd gone 2 up and started celebrating!!
  8. For the past 20-plus years and up to 3-ish years ago, managers have come into the club, done well, hit the VP wall and been sacked. Lately managers have been coming in and doing sh!t and the squad has been weakened, weakened, weakened. And the common denominator has been RL. Randy, just sell the club to someone who knows what they're doing, simple as.
  9. I'm 53 and went to my 1st game in 69/70 and I too am struggling to think of a thinner squad than this lot. Some prem teams have far better reserve teams at the moment.
  10. But he's sh!t and not a proven PL goalscorer, unlike DB9.

    Relegation

I think relegation's coming now, folks, better get used to the idea, then if a miracle happens..................................?
  14. In the late 70s, early 80s, the rivalry was pretty intense and there were some cracking games between the two clubs. Mind you, I think a lot of people hated the Albion for a particular reason back then, ie the 3 Degrees. I can remember the shower of fruit that greeted Laurie Cunningham at the Hawthorns back in 1978 (Hugh Johns on Star Soccer commented that supporters were "throwing missiles" onto the pitch. It wasn't just the "R" word though, the fact that they were a bunch of dirty b*stards helped too, particularly Ally Brown who was responsible for breaking Alex Cropley's leg amongst other things. They were a tough team to play against back then. BTW, I'm not condoning the racism that was directed at Regis, Cunningham and Batson, I'm just saying what went on.
  15. The difference at Villa now is that there are no experienced senior players for the young lads to look up to, unlike Manure. What would we give to have a Giggs or Scholes for the kids to learn from? When Barry came into the side he had Southgate to play alongside, who can Baker or Clark look to? Each other, that's who, mainly after the opposition have just scored, but it's not all their fault. If we still had players of the calibre of Barry and Milner at this club I'd think you'd find it would follow that the youngsters coming through would be of a higher quality and would be allowed to develop more naturally as players because there'd be less pressure on them to dig us out of the sh!t we're in.
  16. He didn't chose, the voices in his head made him do it!
  17. Nice to see they've spent a few bob on the ground though.
  18. Blose fan at work said he wouldn't even have him in their crock of sh!te. Says it all really.
  19. This season will be a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions. You can't whack a decent rollercoaster!!!
  20. Smirk!! I'd sign that Davies kid, he looks world class! the fact that a couple of goals could have been offside only maks it funnier, work on Monday won't be as bad as I feared!
  21. Nail hit firmly on the head.
