Exactly, I think a lot depends on this contract malarkey. If he is only ready for 20 minute cameos and 10 of them means giving him £75k a week, then waiting a bit longer might be prudent. It may be something completely different mind you.

We tried him centrally against Spuds and I just don't think he quite has the footballing knowledge to pull it off just yet. I can see why Sinclair can be preferred at the mo out wide and obviously Gil has to start. All in all, I think he will develop into a better player in the long term under Garde even if he has to have a spell on the bench right now.

They're really hating the fact that Tim got sacked, which will make it even more satisfying when he keeps us up using the new lads.

I would just let him loose tbh. Play him against City, he may just produce something out of this world when we aren't really expecting much from the game. From those YouTube videos before he signed what stood out for me as well as his raw talent was the fact that he did some impressive defensive work. He's got the physique and engine to the defensive side as well as the attacking side, and would have been taught the pressing game at Barca.

I'm not sure where these reports about the captain are coming from. Perhaps it's just Remi thinks Gabby being club captain is ridiculous, as Richards has certainly done his job well so far.

I don't think Richardson went beyond him once, so many times in the second half he'd have the ball and you could tell he was wondering where the **** his support was.

I don't think he was that bad defensively, but there were lots of times where Sinclair had the ball in promising places and it was crying out for Amavi to bomb past him on the left. As it was Sinclair had to try and beat 3 players on his own each time, and although he nearly pulled it off in the first half, he isn't going to do it very often, or at all. Again, hopefully another one that Remi can quickly chuck in the dustbin.

To be fair, there were signs that him and Okore could develop into a decent partnership for the longer term.
