  1. Dave Chappelle is absolutely brilliant. I agree, one of my all time favourites too. His previous Netflix specials have been works of art, true masterpieces. My main issue with the last one isn’t the controversial language - if you watch it end to end you’ll understand the context and probably understand what the actual message is. The biggest problem for me was that it wasn’t very funny. It was okay, but it felt kind of forced and the attempted edginess came across more as trying to offend just to be offensive. Which isn’t in itself that funny. Comedically, I felt it was below Chappelle’s (insanely high) usual standards.
  2. Probably true and a good idea for me too, the last bit. I did get properly angry about Wolves and Arsenal, though. Which is daft, but I guess it means I still care. And I do want to care, I think.
  3. Childhood Gunners fan, actively looking to force a move to Harry Kane’s Spurs, because he’s worried about not being the main man at Villa?
  4. Sure. Like I said, I understand why. I just think it’s shit
  5. Wait, what? I understand why. But why? Sponsor names are shit. Surely you’d want to call it something else?
  6. Never really had a problem with David Beckham before. I do now. Greedy word removed.
  7. I want Solskjaer to keep doing what he’s doing for a long while yet, but I’ll make an exception if I can see Steve Bruce in charge of Man United. Not that it will ever happen in a million years, but it would be the best thing in the history of the universe.
  8. Braves - Astros it is, then.
  9. And what better role model could you possibly have coaching that? Look at the attention to detail that has gone into both the rolling up of socks and putting on of boots.
  10. Typical of you football hipsters to focus on yer fancy methods and yer false number twos and whatnot. You need to get the basics first. We need to put wor boots on, and then build from there. Duh. I bet that’s shut a few people up.

There is absolutely nothing racist about that banner. I hope plenty similar banners will appear in as many stadiums as possible, every week for as long as that murderous regime is involved in English football.
  12. Kate Bush is great. But only for a ‘greatest hits’ playlist for me, not full catalogue. I agree about Prince. I recognise the talent, but have no interest in the music. In other news, I’m getting more and more into hip hop and rap music lately. I’ve been listening to guys like AFRO and Rakim a lot. New territory for me. Not that I’ve ever had anything against hip hop, but I’ve never actively listened to it very much either, before now. I just thought @mjmooney would like that
  13. He made Teemu Pukki look like a Premier League striker You can read it two ways, I suppose, but he looked very, very good playing for a very bad team in a very good league.
  14. He was also very good for Norwich in the Premier League. There’s a terrific player there. But I agree he doesn’t look it, far from it. I’d like to see him play wide right. I think he’d look better there.
  15. Unless you literally play 1-1-8 or something similarly daft, it’s never just the formation. But if Deano seriously thinks it didn’t play a role in today’s horror show of a performance, he’s wrong. Then again, he must have seen something, as he obviously did change the formation.
  16. I’m sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense to me. I have no idea what you’re trying to say, or how any of that relates to what I wrote.
  17. Just to be perfectly clear, as wrong as I think he got it tonight, and as much as I disagree with 3-5-2, to sack Dean Smith now would be absolute f***ing bonkers. The man has been absolutely brilliant for us, and has earned the right not to worry about his job security after a few weeks of disappointing football. Have some freaking perspective, please.
  18. I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t think it’s the right move. I’d argue Buendia would look better wide right anyway, and I’d rather play Ollie wide left or Anwar/Jaden/anyone, than play 3-5-2 again any time soon. We, over time, look better as a team in 4-3-3. The players look more comfortable and confident, and for me it’s an objectively better formation than 3-5-2.
  19. We have the players available to make 4-3-3 work.
  20. He needs to play the formation and style he truly believes in. Not trying to shoehorn players into an unfamiliar shape and compromising on the fundamentals of his own philosophy. We haven’t looked remotely like a Dean Smith team lately.
  21. It’s not good, but it’s hardly ever relegation form when you average over a point per game.
  22. We’re gonna have to roll up wor sleeves too, I think. This is too serious for quick fixes.
