I was having a meal in San Carlo restaurant on Temple St. on one of my pilgrimages to Villa Park and Olof was in there with his wife and parents I think...she was very pretty. Olof had a pizza for his starter! I was trying to pluck up some courage to say hello but my Wife thought we should respect his privacy so I left him alone. I'm glad I did in retrospect. It was his last season with us and I think his last home game before the Wet Spam away if memory serves me right!

Unfortunate for the timing of his injuries. However I am still very excited to see how he gets on and hope he can get fit to command a starting place as i think he will. Sanson has qualities which allegedly made some teams bigger than Villa think about signing him. Finally there aren't many current Villa players with CL experience, Sanson is one of the very few.

Some of us are way off the mark if we expect Ward-Prowse to add dribbles and running with the ball to our game. It's not his main attribute. We have Bailey, Traore and Buendia specifically more attuned for that. Ward-Prowse would be bought to help us retain possession and keep the ball, not giving it way cheaply as we currently do so often.

I also think Ward-Prowse should have gone to the Euros and played more. The balance of Ward-Prowse and Rice would have been better. Phillips was good but disappeared at times and was wasteful with the ball especially in the final (England struggled with possession against Italy). England also obviously fluffed a few free-kick and penalty opportunities which in hindsight Ward-Prowse would likely have more positive outcomes.

Absolutely.. The one thing that really bugged me about McGinn was his wastefulness with possession of the ball. Ward-Prowse would really change us for the better.

After losing Greal-hiss Villa need a statement signing, another Captain/leader, another international calibre type of player.

Someone like Odegaard wouldn't even think about us... We have to know our standing in the scheme of things, we are currently trying to punch above our weight and get out of midtable obscurity.

Some thought we fleeced Citeh for Greal-hiss... Swings and roundabouts.

It's not my money, we can afford it. Think we should sign him. Apart from Sanson who admittedly we haven't really seen much of, Ward-Prowse (I think) would be our best midfielder. £50 million for a Captain of a PL team and current England International seems about right. If we get him it improves Villa and weakens another potential rival. Ward-Prowse might get us top into the six too!

I must admit thinking the same when it was 3-0. We must bounce back and win the next match otherwise he'll start to feel the pressure!

Didn't see the game but our pre-season was disrupted, I guess we see that in our performance against Watford. One thing that yet again seems to be highlighted is the midfield. Last season it was an issue and it's still not been fixed after many people thought was a MASSIVE problem!

This. He has absolutely nothing interesting to say. To be fair we tolerated it as he was supposedly one of us but that seven minute video he did with Lescott was just two boring guys talking b******* Mings is the man by comparison: a good footballer, intelligent, charismatic and so forth. -

I can't imagine Ward-Prowse would want to stay under the current owners and the fact his best mate has joined the Villa. Hopefully he signs soon.
