    No you are definitely not in the minority but it would be very difficult mid season. Also I reckon he is looking higher up the league for his next job.

    Haven't read the thread but Gerrard's next job will be in the PL, it's just a question of who takes the risk on him. And it is a risk.

    Saddened. Football, like life, can turn around fast. We had a lot of highs with Smith in charge. But 2021 has been a poor year performance wise. Hopefully there is a plan in place.

    Before yesterday they had scored 3, conceded 25 in 10 games. There was no pragmatism in their play, didn't seem to adjust anything for the PL.

    Pep wanted him for his ability. The club sanctioned it for a multitude of reasons including trusting Pep. His marketability would have made the decision a lot easier.

    I think they will struggle to get any kind of big name manager when there's a decent chance they will be spending a season in the championship. If they hold on a couple of weeks they might get Rafa back, been there done that.

    I'm sure the contract says they are not allowed do that. Any large contract for broadcast rights would say that. But all games available to stream is where it has to go, whether that comes from Sky, Amazon or the clubs themselves. They would have to do it as a collective or the whole thing falls apart.

    We can't play out from the back. We can't pass. We can't defend. We have no sense of building up play or keeping possession. Smith in trouble. West Ham are a team who have perfected all the basics of football. Fair play to them.
