  1. I haven’t included his EFL record because I am interested in who is the better option Wesley or Gayle. The only comparable stats we have are PL ones which are also the most recent. Do you think Gayle is better than Wesley? I don’t so why would we replace Wesley with someone inferior and older?
  2. I would be amazed if Wesley is not our player next season. He hasn’t played for months and is likely still a bit away from full fitness. He also seems like a hard working player with a good attitude. We don’t need to sell him so why would we. He will be here. I just don’t see the point in signing Gayle. He is nearly 30. He has proven he is not a PL player. He will want pretty big wages. He will have no sell on value and he also is a bit of a tool. We have been too short term for years. I know it hasn’t quite worked this season but we are on the right path. We need to be brave and stick with it. I am sure the future will be bright if we do. If we don’t, then we become a yo-yo club.
  3. According to wiki he has 24 goals in 5 PL seasons including 3 in 17 this season. Wesley has 5 in 21 in his first PL season and is 6 years younger. I know which horse I’d back.
  4. Was it offside in the build up? He looked offside. He gets offside alot
  5. I really don’t understand this. You remember what happened last time we were in the Championship? We bought a load of championship players, struggled at that level and then had to rebuild the entire team to stand a chance in the PL. Why on earth would we spend good money on players like Adams and Gayle when they have performed worse in the PL then our existing strikers? We need to keep our best players and supplement them with other players, in key positions where we have struggled this year (right back, centre mid and wide forward), who have at least a chance of making the step up when we get promoted. We really hashed it up last time. We don’t want to make the same mistakes again!
  6. Absolute baller. Would make him captain for Arsenal. Jack could do with a gentle shunt to geth hm firing again
  7. Genuinely thought he was good today. He has areas to improve but he has some real qualities
  8. Our owners have been clear from day 1. They want to restore us to the very top. They have backed this up with their investment so far. What has changed? We can hold on to all of our players if they back us. We only sell if we get ridiculous offers. The only player that we are likely to get a ridiculous offer for is Grealish and even that is looking more unlikely. We have suffered this year from lack of stability. I doubt we will open the door to that again.
  9. He is not good enough in my view. He has the attributes but just does not pull it all together. To play his position you either have to be unbelievable in attack or fairly strong in attack and defence and work hard. He is neither of these things. I would always pick Trez ahead of him for attitude and bravery alone.
  10. You are clueless mate. You clearly know nothing about football. I have asked you this before and you ignored me but have you ever been to Villa Park? If we kept this squad together we would walk the Championship. Heaton, Targett, Mings, Konsa, Luiz, McGinn, Grealish, Wesley would all be the best players in their position in the Championship. There’s no reason to think that any player will leave apart from Jack.
  11. Or, entered a new country and league just a few months ago. Was faced with a pandemic within 2 months which left him self isolating. Never had chance to settle. Needs some time before we totally write him off. By the way he really does not look miserable. Far from it. He seems like a great character. Ridiculous thing to pull him up on. He is also a Champions League regular and thus a year in the Championship probably doesn’t worry him too much.
  12. I have been against Dean from day 1 but oddly he has started to win me around. We are getting better. You can see the players start to improve. We look more like a team now. You can see the plan but sadly it’s all probably come too late. I am pretty sure though that if we could start again now that we would be ok. So, stick or twist? I have been twist all the way but if we do go down, maybe we should stick. Particularly if there is no obvious replacement who can really improve things. Big decisions ahead
  13. He played well to be fair. Walcott would never do that again in a hundred attempts. That’s our season in a nutshell
  14. He is so weak. He was scared to attack that ball. Andy Gray would have sent the ball, the defender and the keeper into the net. AEG can eff off. He is a pussy
  15. Grealish has been garbage since the re-start. Captain my arse
  16. I have always been very critical of Smith but I think he has done much better recently. You can at least see what we are trying to do now and I think he has handled the pressure pretty well. Massive HT talk for him but let’s hope he can help us pull this out of the bag. If we do I promise never to slag him off again........
  17. I think Samatta has done ok. It’s just not quite happening for him. He needs a good old fashioned goal in off his left butt cheek. A goal could transform his fortunes
  18. Decent half. Luiz best player on the pitch. Jack has been average. We need him to put in an inspirational second half. Everton are there for the taking.
  19. I would make him captain. He is our most natural leader and he is now becoming a key player. I also think he would rise to the challenge. I love Jack but he is a bang average captain. Luis could fill the role for years if we make the progress that the board are aiming for.
  20. Oldest cliche in the football world but we just need to take it one game at a time. Three points tonight will be our sole focus. The last time we played Everton, I was on holiday and we won. I am also on holiday now. Gotta be a sign....... We do have a chance tonight. They are better than us but with very little to play for so we may be able to take advantage. City, who also have nothing to play for, were truly awful last night. COYVB. Make us believe (hope) for a bit longer.
  21. He looks very similar to Luis. I think we need someone with more energy. A real Duracell bunny that just never stops. Someone more alike to Kante
  22. It was crazy not using the loan market to supplement our other business. It was also then crazy to go totally the other way in January and loan 2 footballers who basically retired years ago! Bonkers. I am pretty sure Smith supported the no loans model though, as well as lots of people on here.
  23. I have been really enthused by what we are trying to do with our academy. It seems we have finally cottoned on to the fact that whatever we had been doing previously really wasn’t working.
  24. I don’t hate Smith. I don’t hate anyone.
  25. Even Grealish had the balls to say that the Palace goal was not handball.
