Mings is the least of our worries. He is a good player and one of our leaders. He also has the scope to grow with the club. He could be our centre half for the next 5 years. I really believe that our defence will improve considerably by improving the midfield and attack. Part of the improvement post lockdown was due to the much improved performances of Luiz sat just in front of them.

I think we will start to see things moving over the next few days. I wonder whether the continued involvement of Brentford in the Play offs is slowing things down? Whatever, we still have 2 weeks before the start of pre season so plenty of time to get things sorted. I expect to see at least 3 new signings before we start up again.

You only need to look at the fall off in performance levels for Leicester when Vardy is not playing. It’s a no from me. I would possibly be tempted by Demarai Gray at the right price. Really want Sarr though

He’s also American so no problems with language. Maybe Wes can sell him the vision and twist his arm.

Wow. This guy is amazing. He is exactly what we need. I would be all over this if I were Villa. It looks as though there is plenty of PL interest in him already. I hope Villa are part of that conversation. He is going to be a top player. We have not had a centre mid like him for years.

I agree with this. If we go into next season with our 4 current centre half’s then that is fine. We need to improve what is in front of them. That will make their jobs much easier.

I bet they are going to be looking to sell. Ashley will be having palpitations about an empty stadium and zero sales of minced beef pies and Newky brown! Could be some value in their players.

Totally agree with this. Both have shown enough to be considered first choice but competition is required. Targett in particular has looked very impressive at times and he improved over the entire season.

I had the same thought a few days ago. I did a bit of research and it seems his form has been pretty bad this season. His confidence is obviously shot. It would be a risk but if we could get him for around £5m I would still go for it. I would think Stoke May be desperate to get him off their books.

We need a squad. People like Trez still have a big part to play. We need better quality to start matches but Trez has easily done enough to stay as part of our squad next season. Trez in.

Not seen that much of him but tonight, his first touch has been perfect. He looks very good.

This is likely to be the most stable pre season that we have had since MON left. These guys have done incredible things in such a short period of time. Big love to the owners.

I really hope we finally sign some muscle in centre midfield. Someone who is physically strong, big, athletic, box to box and in your face. A real driving force. I am thinking Keane/Viera. We have been too lightweight in the middle of the park for years. Someone with the power of McGinns ass in their entire body.

I think we may have a go for Rico Henry. He is a Smith favourite and seems to be over his injury problems now. Also a local lad.

I’ll start it for you. Fat bloke down the pub says we are signing a winger. Maybe two. Plus a midfielder or a defender but definitely not a goalie. All our signings will be good or rubbish. We are definitely not signing anyone from Belgium, unless they are Brazilian or Egyptian. There you go.
