  1. Hes young, hes not fazed, we can have a look at him against the better teams. No worse than Luiz today, a bit lazy off the ball, needs to be a bit more aggressive, but hes ok. Would'nt want him to be a starter yet though.
  2. The 2 "penalties" you could argue emphasise our naivety, Pogba was waiting for Luiz, and he duly obliged, Watkins got to the ball, and with experience, probably would have ensured more contact with the goalie. Kane would have got a penalty there. I dont like the way the game is going, but there you go
  3. Too inconsistent to pay £25-40M for. Good last week, average at best this week. Save the money, see how Leicester finish, and then go and bid for Maddison.
  4. Games gone. Nobody tries to tackle any more, and players go down far too easily and are trying to get players booked all the time. Fernandez being the worst. Onto the game, we have 8 players in our squad who are probably good enough, back 5 , SJG,SJM, and Watkind, 1 who might be Traore, the others not good enough. When Watkins went wide left he did more in 10 mins than El Gazhi did all game, both he and Barkley dont hold onto the ball good enough, or give a good enough pass, consequently we give the ball away too much. Luiz, i dont see what he offers if i'm honest, not a great passer, slow and weak.Stupid challenge, and then went off. I think Ramsey is ok, a bit lazy off the ball, but hes no worse than DL to me. Buy 2 good players in the summer, and we are closer, but their 3rd goal wemphasised the difference, Class Goal
  5. The clue is in the word Nationalist, not sure you understand what that word means
  6. I wonder if the Scottish Nationalists who voted Remain see the irony
  7. For me, the best central defender ever.
  8. I remember an interview with Deadly by Tom Ross on the radio in the 90s, and he was quite proud of the fact that when he took over, 83?, we was £1m in debt, and he cleared it. The point that we had won the League and the Euro Cup in that period seemed irrelevant. Yes we missed a massive opportunity hippo.
  9. Same as PaulC, i was in the Clock End.One of the overriding memories of that day was the amount of supporters with radios, and the constant eruptions of euphoria when news come through about our Bozo scoring against Ipswich. Quite a bit of trouble after the game, and saw a few coaches with their windows put through, but you just felt it was the start of something, and indeed it was.
  10. Not sure why it was him marking Clavert Lewin tbh, and maybe Martinez should have done better, but that Mk1 Barkley tonight, alongside SJG and 2 further good additions, gets you in the top 6 at least. The way he moved the ball, and more importantly his confidence to receive the ball in tight situations was the reason why we played so well tonight. If its not Barkley, we need someone similar in this role. As someone said earlier, SJM and DL moving the ball quicker made a difference as well,
  11. Not that i am going to give you a lesson on the history of Ireland Enda, but there was a fair bit of persecution, indeed massacres of Protestants in Ireland, hence why William of Orange got involved, but that was 400 years ago, and as you insinuate, i think you are entitled to self-determination, as are the Scots, and the Welsh. Not sure the politicians would embrace it as much as you think though.
  12. I'm not sure The Republic would want the complex problems of NI, or that even the Tories would be disappointed if NI left GB
  13. Do you think he holds the ball up well enough to play in the middle, or would he be better wide?
  14. Much, much better tbh, On that perforance you would pay £20m for him. Have to say that Perreira looks a player as well
  15. Hes 23, in his 1st year of the top league, and has been sent off against a player who will probably go down as one of Englands finest players. If hes still doing rash challenges this time next year, then it might be a problem, but not yet. The back 5 is fine
  16. Quit a bit of stereotyping on here.......very unusual.
  17. For me you have 6 players who are able enough to get you into Europe, back 5 and SJG, 2 players are probably going to be good enough, SJM and Ollie, the rest aren't good enough. Put Bissouma, and say Mahrez into our team with SJG, and we are not far off. No good faffing about with might bes/could bes, if we want to develop, improve we need at least 2 good/top quality players in CDM, and attacking right sided player. I would love Bissouma, and Raphinia for example, but couls put up with a Neto Quality needed
  18. Bissouma or DL?.........if you can get £25m+ for DL, get it, and buy a Bissouma kind of player, preferbly Bissouma
  19. Foden is the only player i would swap Jack for.....amazing player
  20. Take Luiz off, a liability, bring Davis on, and push Ollie wide. How is Stones in the England set up ahead of Konsa. Mings has to attack the ball for the 2nd, 1st come from us giving the ball away via Martinez far too cheapley.
  21. I think Klopp will walk tbh. In a difficult position, and was trying to deflect, i felt , from what he wanted to say. I would be amazed if this goes through, but in some ways football need a realignment. These 12 clubs lost £1.2bn pre-covid, some are in the shit, but nobody mentions paying £400k per week to their players. Football lost its soul in 1984, if we have to go back to the days before that, i'm not sure i would be too disappointed.
  22. IF Traore is available from Wolves for £30m as suggested in this mornings papers, would it be worth a go?
