How many players are Spuds, Chelsk etc going to sign from the Championship. You missed the point. T get better, keep Jack, we need proven quality, not potential

Players to get us up the league are probably not going to come from the Championship

Contrast how much DS has spent on the GKs and defence, i think they was all his 1st choice, as was i think Watkins. I get the impression the other buys, with good support off the owners, are suad fillers until we can get /attract better quality

Following on from villa4europe, i think DS has sorted the defence now, the midfield and attack need sorting now. For me Mcginn IS good enough, but not alongside Luiz and Sansom. A Bissouma , and i would definately take a gamble on Alli, alongside McGinn , with Sansom and the emerging Ramsey would be a good base. Alli offers the attacking , Taylor/Platt kind of midfielder , who likes to get in the box, and support the attackers that we don't have atm. I would let Luiz go if a good offer come in. SJG is an obvious, not sure Watkins is a lone striker if im honest, certainly looked more comfortable alongside Davis on Sunday, wide right? Not convinced Wes is a player to get us into Europe if i'm honest, not sure Tammy is either, would love a fit Jimenez kind of player. I think the ambition of the owners might surprise a few on here tbh. You could argue that a substantial investment this summer could be insured by SJG value if necessary. IF Alli is available for £25m as reported, its a no brainer for me......hes 24.

FWIW my views Goalkeeper and back 4 are fine, a young LB pushing would be nice but necessary imho. Don't think the balance in midfield is right. Sansom, Mcginn and Luiz, for me , are similar kind of players, we need a ball winning midfielder. From what i have seen of Bissouma this season , he is ideal, and would give us a better balance in midfield. We look better with Marvellous in the team, but we need an upgrade on him. Up front, Jack would get into any team, and Watkins is a good squad player at the very least. Haven't seen enough of Wes, but he rest are average at best. IF we have significant money in the summer, then i would be looking for 3 top quality players. Ideally, for me Bissouma, or a similar kind of player, Alli, or again a similar, and Werner, or a similar. Fantasy i know, but you could argue that we always have the insurance of Jacks eventual sale.

Whys the £going up?

Interesting summer Either an acceptance that SJG will leave next summer, or buys that suggest we are trying to develop along with him. For me, a Bissouma kind of player is imperative, and iff we are as ambitious as i hope we will be, then an Alli/Odgaard kind of signing. Still think we need at least one forward as well

When he lost the tackle to Hojberg on the edge of the area on Sunday it emphasised that he is not strong/good enough for that role

Luke Shaw is ggood at going forward but is not a good defender, Tbh i wouldn't swap him for Targett

There was a moment in the 2nd half when he received the ball on the half way line, and he turned, against Neves, not the quickest, his 1st touch was good, but he couldn't get away from him. He has lost that acceleration that the best players have, Jack has it, he is 27 now, it is not going to come back. He was always one of my non-Villa players, but i'm afraid i don't think he is ever going to be as good as he could/should of been

Bissouma would be my priority in the summer. I wouldn't be surprised, or disappointed, if Tammy came in the summer, and in an ideal world i would love Alli. Neto, for me, doesn't get enough goals, I actually prefer Podence.

What an awful game. Is it me but has Luiz gone back big time? The passing from the back is far too slow and pedestian. Not that he is the answer, but Ramsey made a difference, and he was only on for 10 mins, Traore was a disgrace.

No to McBurnie, but i do think that Burke has quite a lot of ability. Not as a 1st teamer, but i do think he has a lot of unfulfilled ability

Depending on where we finish, but i would like an out and out goal scorer, a la Ings. Jack , El Ghazi and Traore, along with Watkins give us good wide options, and then off course we have Wes to come back. I would definitely sign Bissouma from Brighton, again you then have Marvellous, SJM, Luiz, Sansom and Ramsey to play alongside. A bit more quality

Mings very good today. A bit hard to watch at times, should have kept the ball better in the 2nd half, but never really felt threatened tbh. Anyone of the back 5 could have won MOM tbh, along with El Ghazi

Goalie should have had the 1st, but very slack in defence in the 1st half, poor going forward. I thought it was going to be 4 or 5 to Leicester at H/T but we seemed to have more energy in the 2nd half, Certainly looked better when Barkley AND Luiz went off.# Leicester are a very good, well balanced team, with very good recruitment, or buys are getting better, and we are nowhere near as far behind them as we was this time last season. Need a good physical midfielder, and better options than El Ghazi and Trez, neither are bad players, but not good enough to move on. Konsa was better today

Jack showed last night that he should play in the middle. He got isolated and marked out the game on the left. Until last night i was all for signing Barkley, but i think £30m could be better spent elsewhere. A good big aggressive all round CM, a la Ian Taylor, Soucek. Depending on how Wes returns, a goalscorer, if Wes is struggling, then 2 good attackers..Lacazette?

Quick question. Ross Barkley for £30m, or move Jack inside and get a wide attacker for £30m instead? I like Barkley, but i think Jack looks better inside.
