  1. I'd like know how much it costs to repair the connector inside the phone when the very different stresses break it. (I know that it will be the user's fault rather than a design flaw.)
  2. No-one said they weren't.
  3. And perhaps this is the end of his three months notice.

    Intrusive ads

I've made quite a few changes to ads recently. I'm surprised this is the first you've noticed

    Intrusive ads

Yes, there is now a block of ads in the middle of the list of topics. Ads are placed where the advertisers pay for them to be placed. In your opinion they might be intrusive, but they have no audio autoplay, they don't do screen takeovers or pop-unders. They just sit between the topics. This is caused by people using adblock. The site is busier than ever and yet the number of ad impressions is back to 2012 levels. I've moved to a single ad partner so that we might actually be able to get bad adverts fixed. They don't pay as much as the several networks I used previously. Revenue is down and costs are up. What do you want me to do? I don't believe you'll notice them in a week, but if you do then I'm happy to re-assess at that point.
  6. Source? Watch for the post hoc justifications from people. You'll meet so many people who always thought the jack was too big or used too much space inside the device or whatever "Truth" their marketing department comes out with

And watch out for vitamin C. That's an acid with pH 2.4. Far more acidic than any water. But you'll die without it. Please don't get dietary advice from gyms. Any clown can set themselves up as a nutritionist. Find a qualified clinical dietitian online.

Did this advice come from someone with an actual medical qualification? And not from Hollywood Upstairs Medical College You can also drink too much water which means you'll start getting deficiencies of various salts as you are flushing them out. About 2 litres including what comes from food is probably about right. More if you are more active. The eight glasses a day comes from (1960's?) US government advice which included water from food, not actually eight glasses of water.
  9. Did you call him "Dad"? Otherwise they probably weren't.
  10. It depends what you mean by "protected". If you are spending over £100, always use a credit card and you're protected by that. if you buy direct from Amazon then your contract is with Amazon no matter how much they might try and wriggle out of it. If it's sold in the EU then you are protected by the EU regs. I don't know about shops through Amazon, but it'll be on their website. However these are budget phones. If they stop working chuck them in the recycling and buy another.
  11. Apart from the weight, everything is fine and obviously the weight is offset by the immense battery life. I've just read that review and they acknowledge throughout that this is a budget phone, and a good budget phone but then seem to grade it by comparing it to top end phones. Strange way to rank things. 3.5/5 where 5 is a flagship shows how good this budget phone is. 70% of the phone for 25% of the price. Don't buy it if you're a mobile gamer. Also, mine wasn't grey market, it was bought from Amazon.
  12. If anyone else does the same, it is possible to re-enable it yourself, but I don't know how. If you get stuck use the "contact us" link at the bottom of every page.
  13. @Eastie I fixed it for you. I couldn't reply to your "contact us" request as you've disabled email.

If you mean other intelligent life then yes, I think it is likely.there is other intelligent life. The idea of being able to communicate with that life in any meaningful way is unlikely though. It's not just the distance. We are almost identical to the other great apes and we can't talk to them beyond a few hand signals.

There are about 200 billion galaxies averaging about 200 billion stars each. We don't know enough to estimate numbers of planets yet. Our universe is a spacetime. It has both time and boundaries. There isn't an end in the same way that if you walk north eventually you get to a place that you can't go any further north. The boundaries are hard to comprehend because we are still plains dwelling apes and struggle to put the boundaries into a context related to the next meal and who to shag. I think the anal probing is only a problem without consent.
  16. No, buy a Chinese phone you've never heard of for a quarter of the price.
  17. I couldn't tell you who we played against or what the score was from the first 100 or so matches I attended. I should also be committed.
  18. They've acknowledged the bug and it will be fixed in the next point release.
  19. I've sent the problem to the hosting company. I'll update when they tell me anything.
