Roca, all the outs I agree with with but the 'ins' are just wrong.

ou say realistically and then say Ashton to replace Carew when MON has just brought him.

I would get ashton alongside Carew and then the foward line is complete IMHO

Reo-coker, see nothing in him at all, big time charlie ....

parker, yes please and is said to be unsettled at Newcastle.

I never said Carew out.

Bent, Moore, Agbonlahor, Carew and Ashton? Yes please.

It would give room for rotation, rest, mixing and tactics.

Agree on NRC, like I said I am unsure about him. I haven't seen a lot of him to be honest, but the hype is very, very much around him. And I wonder why? A bit like Scottie Parker who was also under the same type of hype at Charlton.

Roca, Hendrie and JLS are out of contract and can go for nothing, Laursen is staying as he is our best central defender.

Quaresma would follow the Balaban route and hopefully he won't come here beacuse heworks less in defence and dives a lot more than Ronaldo.

Your signings in apart from Quaresma are fine IMO.

We need a guy who can do the odd thing unexpected, the player who other fans wants to see when we are on TV, but not see when we are playing them. We need a free-kick/corner-specialist who can give us 10 extra goals per season. There are many players who can fit this bill, any suggestions?

I know Quaresma wouldn't leave Porto for Villa though (I didn't have him under my Ins-list mind!). He is playing for the best club in his native country and making money which is just as good as what we would offer him. They are playing in the CL every season, we are under the middle of our own table as of now and last year.

I would like a player such as him though.

Ribery anyone? ;)

Martin Laursen - 1M (His ability is wrecked by injuries that doesn't justify his wages)

Laursen has only had two injuries since he's been here. The long term one, and the recent one, so, I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and put it down to purely awful luck, rather than a particular proneness to injury.

I think we should keep him next season to see how he goes, another injury ravaged season and I'd be inclined to agree with you.

Laursen is a quality footballer, he is the same age now as McGrath was when we signed him, that alone should give him the benefit of the doubt especially the improved technology with regards to operations.

With regards players like Ashton, Reo Coker and Davies they wont come for £5m each because of what we paid for Ashley Young.

Prices go down when they relegate, they just want to get more money in to buy new players.

Interesting to see what happens with Carlos Tevez!

Tevez's contract situation is complicated.

They still own the other fella that sounds like a cocktail cherry too, he's only on loan at Anfield

But who owns them really thats the question, under PL rules the club do

The point was to aim at a little more realistic team. Do people seriously still think that even though we have millions we can attract David Villa? Come on now!

Yes

Oh dear!

EH - Why not both? Sidwell is creative as well as defensive and we'd need a defensive minded player to put McCann under pressure.

I'll go for that. Appiah and Sidwell and I'd be very pleased.

Why not take advantage of our newly found relationship with Lyon and take their right back Anthony Réveillère? Fantastick attacking right back, one of the most underrated and best right backs in Europe IMO. Swap him with Hughes and throw Delaney in as well :)

Réveillèire. Yes mate. GREAT shout there. Was briefly at Valencia. God only knows why they sent him back to France.

A lot of hype about David Villa on here. Maybe he deserves it too, what do I know.

First of all, he's not coming to Villa, he's too "big" for that at the moment. And even if he was available for us, I'm not so sure I'd want it to happen anyway.

IMO (and it may sound crazy to you), I'd say if we have a £40-50M (haven't got a clue really) budget I wouldn't want the club to "gamble" £25-30M on a player we have no guarantee whatsoever will succeed in the Premiership. It's a different arena. I'd much rather we pay £5-6M for Ashton or even £15-20 for Bent, who are both familiar to the Premiership.

FTR, he's "only" got 10 league goals so far this season, despite only missing two games. Not great. I appreciate he's behind some other goals as well. Mind you Kanoute has scored 18, almost twice as much in the same league.

If you are talking down David Villa you just haven't seen him play.

He is Wayne Rooney, just better as a striker and not so good at the things Rooney do.

Young, great finishing and destined for great things. He takes corners, free-kicks and penalties as well.

Nope, not talking him down, excellent player from what I've heard. (Has seen him play on some occasions where he's been good but never outstanding.)

Just wouldn't want Villa to spend £25-30M on one player that's all. (And that's generally speaking and not necessarily referring to David Villa.)

I just think Villa and MON should use whatever money available wisely and bring in more quality players that are perhaps a little bit cheaper than just one or two really expensive ones.

Either way 10 goals in the Primera is not fantastic when it comes to goalscoring and it's not given that he would be a success in the Premiership, even if he's great in Spain. And we do have players now who can take a mean freekick, a good corner and score on penalties. :winkold:

But like I said, it's not gonna happen anyway, so no point in discussing it.

Well 99% on here hate C. Ronaldo for various reasons. Some hate him because he dives, some hate him because of the England-thing, many hate him because he is an amazing player and I guess many hate him purely on the fact that he looks better than them.

Nope................ I hate him cause he's a C U N T!

All the talent in the world but he still chooses to dive all over the place, constantly mouth off to the ref and shows himself to be a thoroughly dislikeable person.

If Villa became available I'm pretty sure he end up at one of the really huge European clubs. He's a great player, not sure how suited he would be to the prem. But certainly out of reach of all teams but the top 4 I would imagine.

Exactly!
