If you were a Casting Director...

I was talking to my dad about all the Batman films over the years and if he were a Casting Director on a brand new Batman film, which villains would he choose and which actors would he give the role to?

So it got me thinking about what you guys might think. Not just about a new Batman film, about any film or TV show that you would hypothetically be casting for, or any book or video game that you might like to see made into a film and who you would cast in the leading roles.

Or alternatively, if you want to be silly and cast a movie with the most ridiculous choices for a laugh, feel free.

I will also clarify that this doesn't mean I think certain films should be remade, it's just a bit of fun. You can cast whoever you want, alive or dead and if you want to specify their age you can.

For example, it's not exactly an original choice, but I would pick a young Clint Eastwood to play Roland Deschain, the protagonist in Stephen King's Dark Tower series of books, in a film of the first book, The Gunslinger.

For what it's worth, I couldn't come up with much regarding a new Batman reboot. I was thinking Michael Fassbender for Bruce Wayne perhaps but it's tricky. I would definitely cast Bryan Cranston as Commissioner Gordon, though he has already played the role technically in the animated film version of Batman: Year One.

Louie CK as Batman with David Lynch as his butler. Jerry Seinfeld as Robin. And at some point the two guys from US & UK The Office meets and their heads explode and they don't get a line.

I might have gone too far there, but Louie CK and David Lynch together again, definitely.

I'm tempted to have a crack at casting every major part in The Dark Tower. It's kind of tough though. My first thought for Roland was Viggo Mortensen, but I think he's a little too attractive, and not quite, well, 'rough' enough, I guess. That's why I thought Javier Bardem, who was alledged to have been offered the role, was more right. He's got more of a steely look about him.

I've only just finished The Gunslinger and started reading The Drawing of the Three a few days ago so my Clint Eastwood choice isn't a very educated one.

I'm also pretty flawed in that no matter what the film was I would try and shoehorn Bryan Cranston into it somehow.

Any porn film.

Male lead = Me.

Female leads = Eliza Dushku, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Zooey Deschanel.

All good choices, except you of course, and Zooey Deschanel's name certainly could create some interesting puns for the title of the feature.

Tom Selleck was supposed to be Indiana Jones, but had to do Magnum PI. I always thought if he was cast he'd make a great Indy.

Two movies that came out around the same time that was crippled from the get go by the casting of the protagonists was Troy and Alexander.

As it's my favourite of the series, I will begin my casting of The Dark Tower with Wizard and Glass

First up, Rhea of the Cöos

brrr...*shivers*

This would be amusing if we took to using the forum members as the actors.

Eg GarethRDR as the Hunchback of Notre Dame

You're mean!

At the first rumour of the A-Team film, me and my mate had a conversation in the pub, and cast the lead rolls as so:

Hannibal - George Clooney

Face - Brad Pitt

Murdoch - Jim Carey

B.A. - Vin Diesel.
