There's even less of a chance a far right Tea Party type knows what risotto is...any food or person with a vowel at the end of it's name is suspect to them....

How about

Rice-Krispies.jpg

Nope, too gay.

That Rory Delap has a long throw-in, doesn't he?

gosh, these American's are a rude bunch, aren't they?

.

it's because they lost the war of independence :winkold:

There's a few 100 year old Boston Brahmins still kicking around who still swear allegiance to the Crown, believe it or not. I think they're waiting for the right moment to attack...

There's an area in Cambridge near Harvard called "Tory Row", a long time bastion of Crown kissers...but it's not what it used to be.

Nah, I meant that most Americans would be familiar with Rice Krispies.

Love them btw, Krispies.

If this has been discussed before, than have the good grace to say so, rather than wheel out a tired VT saying that has long since been and gone.

Heresy! The Rory Delap meme will never die!

The Mitt Romney Comedy Tour continues, now in Israel, where he explained the difference in Israel and Palestine's GDP being "cultural", implying Israel is an inherently superior culture...and ignoring the fact that Palestine is a militarily occupied territory....he was promptly rebuked by the Palestinians, who are calling Romney's statement "racist"....

Such a bumbling fool...the Obama camp is loving this

However, anything Romney says that makes Israel look "good" will go down very well in Florida where there is a large elderly Jewish population. Florida will be absolutely key in the electoral college so, while the outside world giggles at Mitt, the Romney campaign will know the damage to his electability is minimal. Unfortunately.

It's known by some here, I am an economic right winger and I also support Israel.

However, I could never support any mormon (a word with one letter too many) for the presidency.

The plain fact is that however misguided Obama's economic views, his IQ is head and shoulders above both Romney and his predecessor, GWB.

I never thought I'd be siding with those wimpy liberal US democrats... but "Obama for Reelection".

Everything cited in that pic could have just as easily been provided without government (or is something that it is unclear helped build the business).

(though the spelling of the additions indicates that it was probably a product of quality government monopoly schooling)

I might not agree with the economic principles you support but I can see the sense in doing so - the sad fact about right-wing politics in the US is that it is too caught up in religious fundamentalism, which has eff all to do with economic ideology.

Romney and Ryan are economically illiterate morons and should not be allowed anywhere near the White House.
All is for the best in the best of all possible worlds, Doctor P.

Interesting thing about being in the States the past few weeks is that strangers talk to you on trains and planes (as opposed to the Uk where if a stranger talks to you , you get up and move to another carriage :-) )

Once we'd established that I wasn't Australian , that the Olympics were "awesome" and the best ever , the talk came around to the elections ... the impression I got is that it is neck and neck and nobody is sure which way it will go .. Lot of negative Obama adverts on TV and if your average American voter is like your average sun reader here in the UK , those adverts could swing it in Mitt's favour

I guess Obama's problem is he couldn't live up to the hype .....

doesnt help working with a congress that is beyond childish and fuckwitted in its refusal to do anything / to compromise. Honestly I think 'centre-right' will be bandied around with the same level of scorn as liberal or ocialist is over there soon enough. **** mad.

You are confusing "the UK" and "London", there. :)

It's a bit unusual when that purveyor of uncritical adulation of anything right-wing with slanted coverage and comment masquerading as news, Fox, is forced to conclude that Romney's running mate is a lying little shitbag:

...to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan’s speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech.
