hogso
Shamelessly stolen from another site I frequent, as I hadn't heard who had qualifed for it before today. Qualified Nations; Brazil - as hosts Spain - as 2010 World Cup Winners Japan - as 2011 AFC AsianCup Winners Mexico - as 2011 Concacaf Gold Cup Winners Uruguay - as 2011 Copa America Winners TBD - 2012 Euro Winners TBD - 2013 African Cup of Nations Winners and the final spot is awarded to Tahiti - as 2011 OFC Nations Cup Winners TAHITI! **** awesome. Only have a couple of players who play outside French Polynesia, and they're both at amateur level. What a wonderful story. Imagine if a side like that or Vanuatu made it past the OFC play-offs and qualified for the World Cup! Great stuff.

Zatman
i read New zealand lost their last qualifier to New Caledonia so its not past Tahiti or Vanuatu to make the play-offs

The_Rev
It's a bullshit tournament though, isnt it? Its like the charity shield stretched out over sixteen games.
Zatman
not really. might sound bullshit but its used as a warmup for world cup so anything that goes wrong can be amended in a year. its why the hosts is always world cup hosts

It's a pretty good idea for a tournament. World Cup hosts + World Cup holders + Champions of each continent

I think it could be an incredibly useful tournament, especially for a side in semi-transition, like England :winkold:
