I don't buy this "if he does well he'll be at United in 2/3 years"

United are one of th ebiggest clubs in the world. When fergie goes they're going to be looking at literally the best managers in the world to replace him.

I don't think they'll be looking at Ole for that.

And if they ARE, it means that Ole will have established himself a reputation as one of the best managers in the world. If he establishes that reputation at Villa, then he'll have had to have done wonders with our club. That means he'll be leaving us in a bloody good position!

Apparently Molde have officially confirmed that we are in talks with OGS.
Do you think this will induce the BBC football journos to tear themselves away from Liverpool porn for a few minutes?

1.has anybody seen how his molde team play?

2.will he be like GH and let man utd beat us because he likes the club?

Don't think he'll need to 'let' them for a season or two.

Comments from @Brendanhusebo

@DoronSalomon @JamieCutteridge @Ohpebbles Sorry to butt in. But a few months into his reign at Molde, he swapped to a more distinct 4-2-1-3/4-2-3-1, depending on the opponent.

He's also much more pragmatic than many think. The diagonal pass is a prominent tool for his deep midfielders and he's not scared to go more direct than that. Sometimes, even, he swaps to a 4-2-2-2 to totally give up possession and react with counters. Nonetheless, only one or two teams in Norway can pass a team to tiredness like Molde.

In terms of transfers, he's done fantastically. The Molde squad now has only five or six players left from Uwe Rösler's time. He's made them a more youthful and, most importantly, a better side. I could go into more detail of his squad rotation and youth policy, but I'll just say it's very good.

Going by his managerial style, though, I doubt he'll move now. He's not at all myopic, and he seems only to want only to leave when a project is either finished or stabilised.

Tidligere Villa-spiller John Carew tror sjefsjobben i klubben passer Ole Gunnar Solskjær perfekt.

If it is OGS then I think this is one aspect where his playing career will help. He scored the Champs League goal 13 years ago. So if we are targeting eg a 22 year old player they would have been 9 years old and most probably a glory hunting red!!!. It may help a little to attract players.

Very excited and IMO just what we need. We have had 3 managers with 'PL experience' and ended up back where we started when Randy brought us. The time is right to take a risk! Randy has been decisive (for a change) and removed McPorridge football quickly so to back that up with an ambitious appointment makes complete sense. I for one hope it's OGS and think it's an inspired choice!

Former Villa player John Carew believes manager job in the club suit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer perfectly.

- It would be a fantastic job for Ole Gunnar to get. Villa is among the six, seven biggest clubs in England. They have great fans and a fantastic stadium. Solskjaer is a big name in England. He also has the mentality and the respect from the players that he needs to succeed, says Carew told Dagbladet.

Villa fans want Solskjaer

The former striker Solskjaer cites that have been in school with Sir Alex Ferguson.

- Villa is also a club that undoubtedly love Norwegians and Scandinavians. I have received tweets from the Villa fans today who want Solskjaer as the new manager, says Carew, and adds:

- I think Villa would Funke awesome under his leadership. Everything is possible for Solskjaer to get a great managerial career in England, says Carew.

- Has had some serious thinking

Football commentator and sports director Kenneth Fredheim in Canal Plus says Solskjaer really get something to chew on if he gets offered the manager job at Aston Villa.

- I believe it is appropriate for Solskjaer to say no to clubs like Blackburn and Bolton, on the grounds that he still has much to learn and prove. But I think probably the decision becomes more difficult if there is talk of a club like Villa, says Fredheim.

He points out that Aston Villa is one of England's big clubs, with a passionate and enthusiastic fan base and good ownership.

- No one is better to consider this here than Ole Gunnar himself. He has a unique experience as both player and coach under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. But if Aston Villa really want him, he has something serious to think about, says Kenneth Fredheim.
