kurtsimonw
This domination over the last 2 Olympics in track cycling is ridiculous. 7 Golds in 10 events in 2008, 6 Golds in 8 events so far in 2012. And it could so easily have been 7 from 8 if the women hadn't been DQ'd on that first day. Completely forgot about that.
Stevo985 Posted August 7, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted August 7, 2012 Pendleton's won the first race, but been relegated. 1-0 to Meares
kurtsimonw
Pendleton relegated. That's tough.
Ingram85
The French are suspicious about it according to the BBC pundits. Saying the wheels you use are 'put into bags' after being used. The implication being that you're hiding them. The reality being that you're keeping them clean in the same way that everyone else does too. Face it France, Britain are excellent cyclists. I'm sure if 'being an arsehole' was an Olympic sport then France would dominate that. Ho hum.
coda
That looked like bullshit to me. Meares swerved into Pendleton. Can't have GB winning all the cycling.
Stevo985 Posted August 7, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted August 7, 2012 Seemed a harsh call (I'm watching with no sound) as they both seeemd to move towards each other. But as I understand it, if you're in that sprinters channel you can't really come out of it (or into it for that matter)once they've started the final sprint, otherwise it's you who's deemed to have made the infraction. kurtsimonw
Meares won 2nd race easy, but quite clearly she made the contact which forced a move in race 1 so wrong decision. Ah well, as if Oz can beat us fairly.
