I really dont understand the media input on Villa and sticking up for McLeish. Here are some pointers for any media who come on to this site for facts.

!, To many Injuries: We had a full squad for more than half of the season, he could'nt get results even then.

2, No money to spend: As quoted, we spent 20 million in the summer, signed Nzog who he has alienated due to trying to make him too defensive. Jenas, need I say more and Hutton, who to be fair is a tipical McLeish player, shit.

3, He came from Blues we will never accept him: We dont give a flying **** he came from Blues give us Houghton anytime soon. He has broke negative records here only winning 7 games the whole season and relegated Blues twice this is the problem you c**ts.

4, He dont have the players: Funny last time I looked, we had Steven Ireland International, Darren Bent International, Nzog International, Petrov international, Dunne, Collins (ok not the best) internationals, Gabby and Warnock have also been internationals. Its about Motivation something McLeish cant do!!!!

5, The fans have never accepted him: We have gave him enough time only really giving him shit from the Bolton game and that was because he felt he needed to be defensive against a "quality Bolton side"

This is just a snippet of facts from his quality season, to help you useless media. They (the media) are obviously to close to McLeish that they cant report any negativity, I bet charlie nicks must be drinking with him. Merson "wake up" he is shite has been all season!

cast your mind back to last season and mr dunne , mr warnock and mr collins.

We cocked up not keeping mcallister , those three clowns would be gone.

I wont renew till mcleish has gone , the three stooges out the door to be followed by cuellar , heskey and of course stan retireing.

McAllister was terrible! So he would have gotten rid of them because he fell out with them? I'm more inclined to think the problem is McAllister rather than Dunne, Warnock and Collins.

Yep.

It was McAllister who bought a slab onto the team bus after a loss.

It was McAllister who caused a boozy punch up with staff on a bonding session.

It was McAllister who told the manager where to go and got dropped to reserves.

In fact, if you look closely at the CTV incident the other night I think you'll find it was McAllister who was standing by as Herd was kicking in the nightclub doors.

I thought it was pretty well documented that the players didn't like McAllister, maybe even more so than Houllier which is saying something when Houllier always let his personal differences get in the way of what was best for Aston Villa.

just read this, im sure it's been posted already

http://www.independent.ie/breaking-news/sport/mcleish-i-wont-shield-players-3102024.html

....what a wa**er, it's not my fault, it's the players, basically. first time i've ever heard a manager say that.

i dont blame mcleish for our team being so crap, but some of the blame certainly is with him...

imo 50% lerner, 15% Houllier, 15% McLeish, 15% players, 5% O'Neill

Absolute nonsense. I said it at the time that prick set us back 5 years. he ruined the club - Lerner has to take his share of the blame for backing him and not getting rid or putting him in his place.

I also fail to see how Houllier ruined us? He tried to get us playing football, bought in Bent and tried to get rid of all the trouble makers - they're still here. The only reason we have this idiot in charge now is because he plays the same crap football as MON and lerner foolishly believed he could get the best out of the trouble makers and wasters that we have.

To anyone who thinks McLeish is definitely going after the Norwich game (and I really hope you are right) I would remind you of comments made by Doug Ellis in the aftermath of the Bolton defeat.

I 100% do not believe that McLeish will be sacked.

My theory since O'Neill was sacked has been that Lerner is looking to sell this club, and make back as much of his investment as is possible...ie-> waiting for the right moment when he can get the best price he can for the club.

The last thing Lerner wants to do is sack McLeish and have to pay him a few million. He believe(d/s) McLeish can keep the the club afloat until a bidder comes in who will soften Lerner's losses. Lerner at this point does not give a crap about the club's ambitions and hasn't since he realised he could not get CL football, without investing more millions, when he had lost so much money in the recession already.

He will stay, if they sack him now they look bad, if they sack him at the end of next season he looks bad. Plus it will be cheaper.

They can now come out and say we are sticking to our plan, continuity, transition etc etc.

If this man hasn't gone the week following the Norwich game, we need to do something drastic; because the protesting will have gotten us nowhere.

After the Norwich game McLeish will have 3 months with no games and no negative, boring, defensive football to stir up any anti McLeish feeling so nothing will happen.

The protests failed, if they truly did, because of the apathy amongst supporters (some of whom who post on here) and their belief that protesting is 'small time' and would 'upset the players' and that 'McLeish is leaving anyway so we don't need to protest'.

We need to boycott its the only way. But I believe there are to many die hards who support Villa what ever the results. There is alot of hate for McLeish, but as was proof yesterday at the game, there's not much bottle about. Like alot of fans had the McLeish out flyers, but thought they were just to take home, hardly anyone showed them. I was in the Trinity and when McLeish walked past at the end of the game, he clapped the fans and most clapped back others just went very quiet??????????

McLeish has been terrible but how can you defend teh players? Bar given everyone has under performed - I don't blame the kids as they are new to it; Petrov did Ok when he played and Given hasn't let us down; but Gabby, Hutton, NZog, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Delph and even Ireland wouldn't warrant above a 5/10 performance for this season.

Bannan (after the drink driving incident) & Albrighton have looked off the pace as well.

Summary: McLeish needs to go.

However he is more than right to have a go at the players they have been crap this season.

Don't give me this about McLeish never taking responsibility and blaming the players, Did DOL? Did MON? No in fact they did quite the opposite.

I'm also starting to believe that he won't be sacked, which is why I think we need to make Mcleish walk himself.

I know hes already getting abuse, but we need to step it up. How? I really don't know

you've got to remove the whole birmingham hatrid spectacles , we were set back 5 years long before McLeish joined. It's great to vent your anger out on one man, but McLeish simply compounded an already huge problem that was created over the past few years by many men.

I couldn`t care less where he came from. We only dropped from 6th to 9th. Hardly a club in crisis.

Now we are staying up on goal difference. Appoint a different manager and we are a good mid table club at the very worst.

ALL of this negativity is down to the appoint of mcleish, then he goes and delivers this type of season.

Apologies if it wasn't clear I'm reffering to MON - it was him that set us back 5 years - though now I'm more inclined to think 10 years.

I despise him more than anyone else associated with Villa moreso even than mcleish. MON is a disgarce and any Villa fan that defends him needs to take a look at themselves.

I have not heard McLeish once blame his tactical set up, he thinks he is doing right every game, so he has got little respect for the players they are obviously not performing. Wenger, Ferguson, Mancini. I have all heard them say they got it wrong. Even if the players have an off game its ""WE" not only the players, the fans etc. This is where McLeish is going wrong, he is alienating the players by blaming them. But the players know tactically they are not a wining side its all wrong. No wonder they cannot be bothered.
