These are not bad players, they are being coached badly. or we need intelligent defenders who can concentrate for 90 minutes, no lapses. This defence has been bad since March/April last year, remember 6-4 at Villa park in the cup too, 7-1 vrs Chelsea and some other really shocking performances thanks to defensive errors.
