isis have apparantly blew up a baby in a training exercise the father was executed and the baby was left an orphan as his mother was dead, anyway the baby had explosives strapped to it and was then blew up as part of an exercise on how to detonate explosives.

Really? Where did you hear this?

Google "ISIS blow up baby", it's on loads of news outlets and sourced to the Iraqi Government.

Makes no difference, they've murdered many thousands of men, women and children already without generating the kind of response that is necessary, one more baby - although sickening - changes nothing.

There will never be a response either, much like there was no response when Israel murderd 551 children last year

Its sickening and saddening how people get away with such things.

ISIS is a Jewish Israeli conspiracy anyway so they probably did blow up a baby, but it'd be Jews what did it.

the nice thing for both sides now, it doesn't even matter if it's true or not

You're right it doesn't matter, IS have proudly ensured their atrocities are well documented in HD, it's not like trying to cobble together a dodgy dossier to provide a moral pretext for intervention.

The people who should have acted many months ago continue to sit on their hands. IS blowing up babies for fun? So what, they don't give a shit.

yep agreed

for the first time on the radio today they were discussing a bit more in depth about what we can actually 'do'

Cameron has apparently suggested more drones and more SAS as our most cost effective way of nibbling at ISIS, But also then added the caveat that the UK can't do much until Labour get their shit together and have a leader and a direction to sign off on a change of strategy to attack within Syria.

One of the contributors basically said (and I'm obviously paraphrasing from a radio conversation so, you know, don't ask for sources or references) that before the military do anything they need to sit the politicians down and get them to describe exactly what we want the end result to be. Do we want a whole Syria retained? Do we want to continue attempting democracy at arm's length, do we want a Kudish territory, do we want Iran having a legitimate role, do we want the Suadis to carry on business as usual, do we want Turkey to be happy with any new lines on the map.

It's a bit bigger than just shooting the baby killers from a drone, witnessed in black and white video stream from above and declaring we've won.

We'll the talking head was spot on, strategically the 'west' doesn't know what day it is, let alone what to do next. From a UK perspective I'd venture the following:

Wahhabi Islam as per Saudi Arabian religious doctrine is the enemy. ISIS and AQ are the logical manifestation of that teaching. Doing anything whatsoever to support or aid Saudi Arabia is madness, allowing them to pump money into the Muslim community in the UK only enables them to spread their poison here.

Islam is NOT the problem, the Wahhabi sect of Islam is evil personified, the polar opposite of our values and petro-$ are enabling them to spread that virus into peaceful moderate Muslim communities around the world.

Cameron is so moronic he either cannot recognise that - despite the advice he is given - or really does think that a few hundreds of millions in defence exports is more important.

"Need more SAS involvement". Really Dave? Some of the finest soldiers I've ever met failed selection, if 120 of those guys turn up on day one only single figures will eventually get badged, it's necessarily hard. To generate more special forces you need a bigger pool of regular soldiers to fish from, but the Tories have savaged numbers in the regular army. Nothing is joined up, it's just sound bites.

IMHO our political pygmies are so far removed from reality it feels like there is no point even moaning about it any more. Cut and paste to whatever area of policy floats your boat.

You are right AWOL but we can't have more regular army soldiers because we need ex soldiers to teach, because the government doesn't want actual teachers any more. Plus nobody can afford to go to uni any more even if they did want to be a teacher.

So I think you will agree the only logical solution is to train teachers to fight and pack them off to the Islamic State.... oh.... I forgot we shouldn't call them that any more as that will make them go away.

It would be funny if not so tragic.

Surely the best policy would be to cut ties with saudi and stop medling in the middle east when its none of our business.

The war in Iraq and failed war in Afghanistan contributed to the creation of ISIS in the first place, then we decided to arm ISIS in the early stages of the syrian war against assad and his army.

The foreign policy of the goverments in this country in recent years is stupidity beyond belief.

What about the oil?

I may sound like a conspiracy nut but I honestly believe the powers that make all this crazy decisions know exactly what they are doing. What looks like stupidity to us mere mortals are really calculated decisions designed to keep the west powerful and the Middle East in check. (While protecting the oil).

Of course, they value oil and money more than lives, thats to be seen throughout history.

The Iran deal has provoked some interesting reactions, most worryingly from Israel who don't accept the deal and have said that they "will always defend themselves" I wonder if they'd have the nerve to "defend themselves" all over Iran even without the blessing of the US?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was a "stunning historic mistake" (The deal)

Much like the creation of Israel mate.
