Stevo985 Posted October 10, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted October 10, 2011 I wasn't talking about a bank account. I was talking about the insurance policy for an apple product that came with the bank account
Stevo985 Posted October 10, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted October 10, 2011 That's off topic Warnock. The "iPhone 4S" is just the product's name, not the actual product itself.
Dodgyknees
Wondering if a sim card from my Iphone would work in an Ipad or would I need a new tariff and sim?
jim
Wondering if a sim card from my Iphone would work in an Ipad or would I need a new tariff and sim? It should do as long as you get enough data on your phone tariff. You could do what i have done and save the cash and buy a wifi only version and get a mifi, that way you have your own wifi hotspot where ever you go. jim
I'm sure the OP wouldn't mind anyway? It's not like we're talking about what we had for tea tonight, it still has something to do with Apple because it's about the purchase of one of their products and I bloody want an iPhone 4S!! This. The whole point of this thread was to stop a certain individuals constant trolling and turning the iphone thread into an android wankfest.

Gingerlad
If Gingerlad changed his stupid stipulations for the thread and Conor stopped trolling him about how great Android is then I guess we wouldnt need a red post every three pages. If that doesnt happen we could just use the current sticky iPhone thread or create yet another new one to post in. Just saying. I dont think they are stupid, its an apple thread for talking about all things apple. Like you say it was put that way after advice from Limpid due to trolling from others who constantly used the iphone thread to slag it off and talk about how wonderful android is. Its not that hard to talk about Apple products/related stuff without slagging it off every 5 mins.

jim
Definitely the 2,much better processor and will run iOS 5 a lot smoother. I have read the beta is a bit clunky on the 1. I don't think there is that much of a price difference either unless you go for a refurb.
tonyh29
seems due to a potential battery fault I will be getting a new ipod Nano ..i assume they will just give me another gen 1 version though

I've just been going through YouTube watching and reading alot on the iPad 2 and they look pretty cool. Is it really 'just a bigger version of an iPhone'? I have a 3GS so don't have some of the apps an iPad 2 or a iPhone 4/4s has like Face time. Could I also use it as a mini-computer and access websites like this instead of using my PC? CVByrne
Yeah an ipad is like a halfway house between a laptop and an iphone. It is essentially a big iphone but because it is big you can browse the web better. But remember it doesn't support flash so you won't get the full web experience you can get with a pc. In my humble opinion and i have a tablet. I think they are most certainly not replacements for a laptop. But they do fill a space for media consumption, like watching movies, browsing the web etc.. It is all I use at home for browsing and watching films. I also do some editing of excel and word files with quick office. If all you do is browsing, then yes it can replace a laptop IMO as with ios5 you don't need a pc to sync or update with iTunes. Conor - flash has never been an issue for me and I am yet to come across a site I couldn't access.
MCU
Thanks for getting back both! How is watching films and the battery life on it? I assume it's ideal to get a big memory tablet...

HTML5 is starting to take off in a big way now, so Flash video will become less important as time goes by. It will be a few years yet before it really isnt needed though. I charge mine every 3-4 days and use it for a good few hours a day. Memory wise I went for the 32gb and if I am honest could probably have got away with a 16 as all my music is on the iPod and transfer movies from my hard drive as and when. CVByrne
You may not use flash but it's still worth mentioning as it's absent and it's quite prevalent on the internet, it was important to point it out before he buys one
