rhyscartwright_avfc Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Chelsea don't really have anyone they can turn too on the bench if they need to attack. Zhirkov probably being the best. A lot of inexperience on there. Ferreira should be got at by Young. Apart from him though their defence is still very good. Glad he's got both NRC and Petrov though, because we need them to win the ball for Ireland, Young. Fancy Ireland to have a good game now he isn't being burdened with defensive duties.
rhyscartwright_avfc Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Chelsea: Cech, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Essien, Malouda, Kakuta, Anelka. Subs: Turnbull, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Borini, McEachran.
The_Steve Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Chelsea: Cech, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Essien, Malouda, Kakuta, Anelka. Subs: Turnbull, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Borini, McEachran. That's a weak Chelsea bench outside of maybe Zhirkov
MrWeedMcGrass Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea I would have had Cuellar instead of Dunne. Hope you are proved wrong Chindie
CVByrne Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Poor team choice Carew should be nowhere near the first XI He is our only fit striker. What would you have us do?
Chindie Posted October 16, 2010 VT Supporter Posted October 16, 2010 I hope Collins breaks Kakuta at some point incidentally. I hate that word removed. Lets have a leg breaker.
rjshare Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 looking at that chelsea line up i can see why houllier thought it was a safe game to rest a few of our big names
dappadan Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 COME ON YOU VILLA BOYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PompeyVillan Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Excited to see Ireland in his best position. If he can find form we'll be in for a treat.
theunderstudy Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 FFS! BEYE!? CAREW!? Heskey Albrighton and L Young not even on the bench? I was hopefl of a win, but that has dented my confidence. I cant see us winning now unfortunately.
dudevillaisnice Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Malouda vs Beye is going to be embarrassing.
rhyscartwright_avfc Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Heskey, Albrighton and Young are all injured.
AValon Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Ireland could be key here? Will be very interesting to see if he can run the game from there. IF it works, I can see JC having a couple on a plate and maybe the boy nicking one himself. Big IF there.....but I'm going for a Villa win anyway!
PompeyVillan Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Luke Young must be injured and Houllier must believe that Cuellar at right back is not an option. I'd disagree with that, he's shown that he is more than capable there, but there we go. A new manager a new philosophy. Certainly less pragmatic than MON, but to be fair the team is picking itself at the moment with injuries and lack of squad depth etc.
MrWeedMcGrass Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I am also not happy to see Carew starting.
CVByrne Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I really would have played Cuellar at right back, he was very good there last season. Beye must have shown something in training to warrent this vote of confidence from Houllier.
