Pilchard Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Poor team choice Carew should be nowhere near the first XI
JulieB Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Heskey failed a fitness test and Albrighton was taken ill last night so enforced changes.
Mantis Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Poor team choice Carew should be nowhere near the first XI To be fair, if Heskey and Gabby are both out injured, who else is there to pick?
rjshare Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Poor team choice Carew should be nowhere near the first XI well, assuming gabby and heskey are both injured, the only other option would be the fonz leading the line. at home against the reigning champions leaving carew on the bench and expecting fonz to come in and do that having not featured for the first team at all so far would be a tall ask and also put the manager in a damned if he does, damned if he doesnt situation.
JulieB Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Luke Young & Gabby both not fit as well. Just hope Ireland gets forward & leaves Petrov & NRC to the midfield for some of the time unless we need a 5 man midfield.
Rich_D Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Fickle Fickle. Last season people would have picked Carew over Heskey. O, that was because Carew was scoring goals. Now Heskey is starting to play well people think he shouldn't be dropped. Come on!! Nice to see Ireland behind Carew. His best position. Beye at RB. Good he has a chance but wouldn't have minded Lichaj...bit inexperienced against a very good Malouda perhaps. Think we will do OK later on. UTV

Mantis Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Just to confirm, Ireland will be playing in an attacking role and not where K Mac put him, right?

Gutted he's not made it to be honest.
villatillidie1980 Posted October 16, 2010 VT Supporter Posted October 16, 2010 4 years with no squad rotation and we're all scratching our heads wondering wtf is going on when someone other than the "chosen xi" gets a start Very true!! Although it is a little nerve wracking!!

Tomaszk Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Indeed, that's why I'm gutted. We need to press them, and Carew needs to put in a massive performance now.

Heskey failed late fitness test. Who else is going to play...Fonz? No thank you
JulieB Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Carew also scored for Norway as well didn't he a week or so ago? Let's hope he's on his game & brought his shotting boots with him! ESPN really are naff. Keegan & Craig Burley for spundits...what the hell do they know about Villa?!!

SafeHands Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 With that team we might be in for another drubbing? Worried, really worried.
