Yeh it was poor. There was a little scene towards the end that was alright, but was the whole thing worth it just for that? Not by a long way. It was basically Bring Down the Sky tbf

Just started playing. I was worried by the very linear style of the first two missions, but now I've got my own ship and I'm exploring I'm loving it. It is so in depth, have spent hours just reading the appendices!

Finished this and effing love it.

Kind of regretting my decision on the final mission now, but I'm going to go with it and live with my choice. Cannot wait for the 3rd.

Unfortunately Garrus, Jack and Thane won't be joining me.

I managed to come backs sans Miranda :(

The only person i lost on my playthrough was that robot bird, cant remember her name, Liara or something? Which was a bit of a bonus because i honestly couldnt stand her. Possibly the worst character in the game.

Whereas this...

Unfortunately Garrus, Jack and Thane won't be joining me.

I wouldnt be able to deal with. Garrus and Thane are my boys!! Mordins definitely one to keep aswell.

I'm only gutted about Garrus, but that is the hazards of a suicide mission. I was toying with doing it again, but what's done is done.

At least I won't have to hear about Garrus' calibrations again.

I haven't started the game I was going to do with **** up the final mission as terribly as possible. I've got a perfect game to carry over with renegade FemShep - by far the best way to play in my experience - but want to see how badly I can make the paragon MaleShep suffer

I didnt really have a clue (and still dont to this day) about how i could actually influence the events that take place in the last mission. Obviously, assigning team mates to to the different tasks is what decides what who survies and who doesnt (i think) but there was never any real logic to what i was doing.

Or maybe there was. Its been a long time since i played this but i just remember feeling rather lucky that only one member of the cast - who happens to be a bit crap anyway - died in the last mission.

I couldn't handle Miranda dying. She had better be in Mass Effect 3.

Does loyalty effect the final mission? Jack was not loyal for me (I sided with Miranda in their argument, of course) and she died on the way back to the ship.

Did anybody have the whole of the standard crew survive? I had to watch Kelly melt before my eyes.

You got a point there actually. Liaras mission was the only one that i went against her will (something about her dad if i remember correctly) and it turns out she was the only one that died. I thought that it would have something to do with who you sent to do which task on the last mission but now you've said that im probably wrong.

Either way, Bioware did an amazing job of telling an epic story and making the player feel like thay had influence in of events that unfolded as they happened.

IIRC loyalty effects the likelihood of a squad member dying if you make certain decisions. The things that affect who lives and dies are the ship upgrades, who is picked for what roles, and the loyalty of each character - loyalty plays a smaller part than the other 2, as it is entirely possible for unloyal characters to survive based on the decisions you make and the ships upgrades. There are vague hints to who might be good for what role, and some are fairly obvious, but the game never makes it clear the criteria for roles being successful or not. Which is a good thing of course.

It's a been a while since I actually polished off the game so can't say more accurately than that.

Interesting Chindie. Amazing how much thought actually went into the factors of deciding who lives and dies if thats true. Come to think of it i did upgrade my ship to the bollocks. Maybe that plus the loyalty missions has the most bearing on what happens?

I had to watch Kelly melt before my eyes.

Me too. I was gutted. Had put plenty of groundwork into that gyal

Feel like I'm missing on on seeing everyon die and Kelly melt...I did download it for PC for free when they did that offer not long ago, so thats a good excuse to fire it up

Yeh, I did. Well, in terms of ME2...it was a renegade playthrough, so I killed Rex in ME1, so (if he could be anyway) he won't be in ME3

I had everyone survive. I did everyone's side missions when I could though and got everyone loyal.

I also didn't pussyfoot about when I could go through the Relay so I managed to save Kelly and the Dr etc...

Legion - Vents

Garrus - Team Leader (both times)

Mordin - Escort

Jack - Forcefield

Finished the boss off with Miranda and Samara.

Also upgraded the ship to it's potential which probably helped.

On my first playthrough atm. I'm playing it on Insanity setting and it's quite a challenge: ME1 on Insanity was a piece of piss.

Combat is much better, though I'm not enjoying getting stuck to objects. Trying to back away from a mob and then I find myself stuck to some box at my side & end up dead.
