Oaks
fine - if you think ash is playing well because he took two (well one actually - the second was only good because it was flicked on by a defender) good corners then i'm happy to leave it at that. If you read my first post i agreed he isn't playing well. He isn't. You seem to think taking a great corner or free kick is easy thats where we disagree. I personally think Young has the best corner delivery in the English game ATM, and we have scored quite a few goals from them over the years. I think until Downing is fit, he is more than worth his place. I dont get the point in singling out 1 player after beating the team who was top of the table, after Young provided the ball for both goals. you have just agreed with what i said all along - he isnt playing well - i dont see why you are taking such exception to me pointing it out! if you look back through these threads for this season it has been said after just about every game - he hasnt played well - and doesnt seem to be getting any better. my opinion is that an out of form player is sometimes best taken out of the team for a couple of games. now that we have ascertained that we actually have the same basic opinion, do you think we can give it a rest and go and celebrate? Erm no you said he was a liability. Thats different to saying he isn't playing well. He is far from a liability. Infact he is still worth his place in the team and one of our most important players. yeah i did, i think he is, you dont, thats fine. I also think you know very little about football. beasley14
Oaks has Ash really been inloved in 3/4 of our goals. I thought Milner had more of an impact statistically this season so far. I also wish |Milner would shoot a bit more!

kiddybloke
Friedel: 6 Warnock: 8 Dunne: 9 Colins: 9 Cueller: 6 Young: 6.5 Open-play passing and running with the ball both well below par. Petrov: 9.5 MOTM Sidwell: 8 - High rating for his "hustle bustle" Milner: 8 Carew: 7 Gabby: 7.5 Hesky - 8 Just for the block and then chasing down the ball and holding it up. I agree, he is miles away from getting on that plane. And might struggle to keep he place when Downing is fit (but i doubt it). But he is well worth his place ATM. So lets all have a beer and celebrate our great win.

rjw63
Just got in, not read any other opinions. All I will say is this: Even without the goals, Dunne and Collins are a genius signing. Best defensive duo since Evans and McNaught

Ryan.
Wow, I guess I'm the only one who thought Milner was quite poor today, the effort was there as usual but not much else IMO
heystally!
Lovely to see people near me shouting "No Heskey!" before he came on. Please contract aids and go **** yourselves. He was wanted here by the manager, he wants to play football, what's wrong with that? Just because you don't think he's good enough, don't blame him. Surely it's the manager's fault for buying and playing him? And after missing a flick on and knocking the ball out trying to take on a player, he not only charged down a shot to give us that extra bit of comfort when Chelsea could have gone on and scored in that last minute, but he gave John Terry a knock in the head. Surely that deserves praise alone! Get behind the team you dickheads. We're beating Chelsea at home, the last thing we need is people singling out a player who is just trying to make a difference here. Support the players and maybe they'll perform. It's no coincidence that we were solid in shutting out Chelsea in the second half today when the crowd got louder, and starting cheering every good bit of play. Rodders
Ratings Friedel 6 - absolutely shocking for the goal, but he made up for it by being very solid and big later on in the match Cuellar 7 Collins 10 - MoM - just outstanding throughout, and sod the goal he was fantastic. key blocks, great headers , passing etc. Dunne 9 - superb Warnock - 8 - excellent performance at full back Milner - 6.5 - not his best at all really. good industry as ever but his passing when we attacked was poor - although he could have had an assist if JC had been sharper. Petrov 8 Sidwell 7 Young 7.5 Gabby 8 - denied a clear pen Carew 5 - missed a sitter, not sharp enough and generally didn't offer much up front. Poor - doing his best to give Heskey a start. sub Heskey - 10 minutes - terrific hold up at the very end pleased me. MoN 8 ref 1 - pure shite from start to finish - for both sides. bloody awful officiating.
