Forgot to say in my Avengers review

Was it wrong that I got annoyed when they constantly referred to THAT phrase incorrectly

Peace FOR our time , I know it's Hollywood but get it right

In America the phrase has become more well known in the (incorrect, as you you rightly say, of you want to recall Chamberlain) 'peace in our time' version due to it's incorrect usage by various public figures, notably a bunch of presidents.

I think that's what Whedon was chasing, the American pop-culture take, however wrong it is. He's not stupid so I think he'll know it's wrong but works for his purposes.

Common book of prayer pre-dates Chamberlain and contains the popular (of its time) phrase "Peace in our time". [\pedant]
Well while we're being pedantic, it's "The Book of Common Prayer", not "The Common book of prayer". [emoji3]

Off topic I know but I saw Age of Ultron at the weekend and thought it was truly spectacular, especially in 3d.

Only part I wasn't sure of was James Spader's mannerisms for Ultron. I know they were going for the 'more a person than a robot' anthropomorphic angle but it just looked like Robert California with a robot suit on.

Anyone who hasn't seen it - stay for the normal after credits teaser.

It's nothing amazing. It's basically food porn with a feelgood story.

Was perfect to get over the Sunday night blues though :)

And to think I nearly watched Downfall instead :crylaugh:

Fury Road reviews are out and shock horror seems to be universal praise across the board, with masterpiece being mentioned more than a few times, little CG as well ;)

From the trailers, it was clear it was going to be either absolutely brilliant or an incoherent mess.

The reviews indicate the former - looking forward to seeing it.

Watched Clear and Present Danger last night. Absolute classic in my opinion.

Tried to watch Patriot Games the other night and couldn't get into it. Hasn't aged well but saw Clear and Present Danger recently and seems to have stood the test of time a lot better

Despite the advances in CG, you shot Fury Road as much as possible in-camera with practical effects. Why?

It’s not a fantasy film. It doesn’t have dragons and spaceships. It’s a film very rooted to Earth. A kind of crazy demented quality to everyone’s behavior arises out of this extreme, elemental, postapocalyptic world. We needed to make it feel as real as possible.

Fixed.

I really think Jurassic World looks like a steaming pile of shite. Not impressed by anything I've seen at all, hopefully the film proper is better than its trailers are making it look.

The trailer just makes it out to be the most formulaic piece of crap ever. I could literally say every line before they said them. It's another RoboCop remake.
