Someone called Oscar Bobb gets time on the pitch for man Citeh yet England stalwart Kalvin Phillips still warms the bench.

Someone said in the Southgate thread, if Phillips keeps playing well for England, Pep might give him a City call up :D

Brentford holding off Toon very impressively so far. It does seem like Brentford's 5-3-2 has stymied Newcastle and removed all those deadly spaces they found in our defense, I think? But obviously a very defense approach.

I swear that Thomas Frank studied our loss to Newcastle. His set up looks like the perfect answer to what did us in (apart from the horrible injury).

Brentford never NEVER stop pressing. It's not complicated to figure out what Brentford is doing to short-circuit Newcastle, and it's basically just closing their arses down before they can create any progressions. It's not winning for them, but it's not losing either, and it's pure heaven to see Gordon run himself silly and get ... nothing. Another key: Brentford are super fit. They seem well-conditioned and even more in shape than Newcastle, and that's saying something.

But now there's bad a Rico Henry injury ...
