Xela
I've been out for beers 3 times in the last 6 days (go me! #humblebrag #socialwanker) and everywhere is rammed. Even on school nights. The cost of living doesn't seem to have hit yet for a lot of people.

Its 2023, people stick with all the luxuries, including spending out when socialising. Someone needs to tell the boe it's not the f***** 80s, when you stopped buying Cadburys and and oven chips, it's only dropped slightly now cause fuel prices went low, although I've noticed them sneak up 5p a litre the last week. At least the bankers will be okay with there end of year bonuses aye?

Genie
BA staff getting a 13% payrise, great news… if the business can sustain it.

They've at least locked it in for the next 18 months. We got 15% plus 5% skill pay all backdated to January and free to start it all over again next January. The airlines/ground handling companies need to learn their lesson not to drag it out until the summer when they're petrified of strikes and just completely cave in. Sadly I can see a big cull of agency staff in the autumn to cut costs in the meantime. 1

I went out last Friday, I **** hate going out because 1 - I don't do well with crowds or people in general but I recognise that sometimes I have to make the effort otherwise people will just stop talking to me completely and 2 - its far too expensive. Cost me around £70 quid it did, I just can't justify that for a few hours of not enjoying myself, I think that is only the second time that I've ventured into a pub this year, maybe the third

At the opposite end of the spectrum you also have many more people still living with mum and dad again for whom the interest rates don’t have any effect.

Don't even really need to make people redundant, most of the staff is from agencies before getting full-time contracts after about 6 months. They'll just say thanks and goodbye when peak season is over. Luckily I've been there long enough to have a full-time contract.
