Weston McKennie

He's made ninety-one appearances for Juventus, has played in eleven of their fifteen league games and five of their six Champions League games this season. I think he might be a bit better than some are suggesting, is it case of him being judged harshly because he didn't stand out at the World Cup in the same way that people overrate players and insist we should sign them just because they have a good World Cup and others jump on the bandwagon, because some of the overwhelming negativity doesn't make sense to me.

Plus he plays a different position to Dendocker, Luiz, and Kamara, so not really in competition with those, and Ramsey might not play as traditional eight under Emery, so he would be competition for McGinn.

McKennie is just an American Nigel Reo Coker and i am only half joking. Good pace good energy and is strong but he isnt that great technically.  What Kamara has done is change my mind about the level of player we can attract.  The old days of aggressive and hard working are gone for me now. Tactically the prem has gone up levels with probably 5 of the top 10 coaches in the world managing here..these tactcs need technically superior players.

Agreed. The games moved on. Today's game is all about specialists. Mckennie isn't what we need. If we to sign another midfielder I'd like one that can dictate and is a strong passer

The thing is that Juventus can surround him with technical players so that McKennie can use his athleticism and engine. We do not need his type to play in the double pivot but maybe Unai values him to be sort of an all-action wide midfielder ala McGinn.

Either way - it'll be an expensive move that could be used elsewhere.

Feels like we're getting linked with him every window now. He's become one of "those" players that get locked in Julie B's basement.

We will sign him at 33 like Robbie Keane
