I'd rather have seen Dendonker as the switch for Kamara tbh. We never really took control of the midfield having JJ, Bailey and Diaby on the pitch at the same time.

Donk struggles with a low block against the Bosnian champions. You really think he would have helped today?

I think it would've helped McGinn and Luiz play a bit higher. Instead of job sharing Kamaras role.

I felt having runners like JJ, Diaby and Bailey tonight would restrict us as they would never get the space, especially through the middle to play.

Fair enough.

If Dendoncker can’t get a game when the only other player in his specialist position is suspended then you have to ask why we’ve kept him at all for this long. It’s obvious he doesn’t fit Emery’s system at all. We should have pushed him harder out of the door in the summer and brought someone else in who has some use within the squad

Couldn’t agree more and quite disappointed we didn’t. I can only assume we tried but couldn't move him on so couldn’t sign a replacement.  Others will you Emery wanted to keep him though.

When a players main reason for signing is money you ain’t moving them easily.  Just look at United.

Anyway back on topic, I saw signs of the old Ramsey today.

He was crap but anyone blaming him for the goal being ruled out needs to have a word with themselves.
It’s one of the worst VAR decisions I’ve seen. That’s not on JJ

Yeah you take the screenshot from the VAR call and there's about 8 fouls on it

There is more of a foul being made on Ramsey than Ramsey is making on the keeper

But we all know keepers are protected

And that's before you go in to an argument about phases of play

Having seen it I thought it was fair enough. He's preventing the keeper from moving properly ny holding on to him.

He’s barely touching him. Whilst having his own shirt pulled. When earlier in the game a two handed push in the back on Watkins was waved away.

It’s an awful decision, even before you get to the fact the phase of play had ended so VAR had no right to rule it out anyway

Ramsey needs to be dropped. We all love him and know how high his potential is but he needs to feel the pain to redouble and refocus his efforts.

Zaniolo has been through that journey and deserves a start now.

I would have said that Sheff Utd at home was a totally logical choice to get 90 mins into a player returning from injury.

I thought it was a foul because he pins the keepers right arm. However VAR shouldn't be going back to a different phase of play when Sheff Utd had chance to clear and the keeper was back in position.

I don't even think it matters what he was doing to keeper. If they were reviewing that incident they should have seen his shirt being pulled off his back and given a penalty

It shouldn't even have got to 'phases of play' because it's just a clear foul on our player before he even engages with the keeper.

It seems to be different rules for contact on goalkeepers. I think we're all in agreement that we got screwed over though.

He didn’t pin it though. For about a frame or two he had his arm on the keeper’s arm.

Foderingham is an awful keeper and his dreadful attempt at clearing the ball is getting excused because of this fake foul

Oh definitely. Keepers always get this type of stuff.

Ordinarily, I'd be annoyed at Ramsey because he's stopped us scoring by not being cute enough a couple of times now.
