I am still not convinced that Russia is leaving Kherson.  Even if they are,  there will be plenty of deadly surprises waiting for the Ukrainians.  Let's hope Ukraine resists the urge to rush in.

Completely agree, hence my original scepticism over the BBC story. High up Ukrainian military sources appear to share that view too

Did he fall out of a car window?

I was thinking that they probably pushed the whole car through a nearby window.

The rumour is that he isn't dead at all.

This isn't someone Putin wanted killed, this is someone Ukraine wanted dead.

Lot's of Ukrainians think he's been disappeared to help get him out of Kherson.

The man was a grade A loonball

Probably accurate. Give him a new life back in Russia and avoid the shame of having to evacuate from a place you just annexed and said you'd never give up.

They have withdrawn, but left hundreds or even thousands of soldiers in civilian clothing / moved into abandoned buildings. Russia has also shipped in many TV crews / reporters into the area.

Ukraine will seize control of the "abandoned" city, but "civilians" will be helpfully filmed by RTA and Russia today uprising against the Ukrainian barbarians as proof the "citizens" of Kherson are desperate to be a part of Russia.

Surround it & wait is all that can be done short term I think.  See what happens.

They know they are dead if they fight and dead if they don't.  Time to give them a way out maybe,  they have been left to die,  they must know this ?

Is Baldrick in charge of this plan?

Ukraine as good as said this was their plan two weeks ago so they aren't just going to march into Kherson triumphantly.. They'll go in house at a time, searching for 5th columnists, collaborators and booby traps.

This "plan" will only work if Russia has complete command and control of all the defensive positions and they are fully stocked with what they need with a known workable plan.

There is more chance they kill each other by mistake at the moment.  They are clueless,  the new guys are a waste of time.  Not even worth counting as a fighting asset.  Some of them have never shot the gun except a few goes before now.

I am not sure that's a credible plan.

Doesn't it show the Russian army running away and leaving Russian "civilians" to the persecution of Nazis?

There have been some hilarious exchanges on Twitter today.

One Russia supporter was explaining that the East Bank of the river has huge defensive value and gives Russia a huge advantage for counter- attack. Apparently the West Bank is  immensely vulnerable and will be  difficult to defend.   It was an excellent post including locations, land heights and numerous defensive features and weaknesses.

Then someone pointed out that he'd actually been describing the West Bank.

He deleted the post.

Another day, another bad Russian propaganda job..

Funnily George Galloway has this bad attempt at propaganda glued to his wall.. The man is disgusting.

From the sounds of it the image was created and promoted by a Ukrainian with Nazi sympathies back in 2018, a guy called Ihor Arkusha, who claimed to be selling them in Lviv. It was never a Ukrainian government stamp though.

Here is his Facebook post trying to sell them and a debate below amongst Ukrainians on whether it is appropriate.
