What Song Are You Listening To Right Now?

Oh Japan.

Make a super overblown speed metal track on some software, get a girl who can sing a bit and it's fairly cute, autotune her to death, get 2 better looking girls to do the Bez role, create new genre, profit.

And yet I like it. I want to hate it. I can't.

This is right in my zone. I could listen to these guys for the next 20 years and be reasonably happy.

This video gives me weird thoughts. Weirder than usual. 🙃 It's extraordinary. Such a culture-blending mind-****, you have to stand back and salute.

Went to see them only knowing what everyone does.

The girll's show was slick, the real surprise was how good the Kami Band were.

He's been around for a good while, perhaps rising again on the back of a strong Nineties revival?

Great “discovery” for me. Thanks!

Yeah the band's really quite good - I'm not a musician by any means but the drum on some of the stuff they are doing is on the level of things that you can do in program but in real life you're pushing it as far as I'm aware. But then you watch them do Glastonbury and the guy bangs them out one after the other and looks bored doing it. And the guitarists do that modern thrash metalcore thing as well as anyone. Then you get the girls who are basically glorified cheerleaders and one that can belt out catchy melodies while doing anime inspired dancing.

It's cynical as **** but I enjoy it. I wish I didn't.
